The chicken, now that it's not half-bursting with hellspawn shadow spew, is actually quite a docile and sweet creature. Scott thinks she's very weak, though. We're going to stay overnight to watch over it. She keeps nudging my hand with her beak.

Some fresh faces transferred into our grade today, along with a weird, pale-looking replacement English teacher.

I'm not sure what it says about our town, really, when the only professionals we can get are looking more and more like film noire horror cliches.

Let's just hope this one doesn't bite.
