A life in containment
The following is to only be read by foundation members holding Level 4 or higher clearance to keep lower ranking individuals from feeling sympathy for SCP-||||||||

It hasn’t left its shadow in weeks. The food is piling up. It hasn’t even tried to break containment. We see movement when personnel are introduced to its containment, but it doesn’t try anything. It just watches. We did a test and had purposefully had D-class set up the floodlights at an unsafe distance. It didn’t care. It has been making odd noises. Soft whines, chitters. Like it’s in pain. But, we know it has hyper-regeneration, and that it doesn’t feel any physical pain. I mean, I’ve personally watched it chew off its own leg because it had an itch without even a flinch. There’s something wrong with it, and that is a terrifying thought. I’m going in, despite orders against it. It hasn’t come for daily communication. We haven’t used the set up for it in so long. We brought in all kinds of doctors, each of the foundation staff. Some refused to approach it until after I approached myself. The lights in its containment have all been turned off for its comfort. We think we’ve figured out what is wrong. We’ll be releasing SCP-999 into its containment once again shortly. Hold.

The test was... inconclusive. SCP-999 definitely could tell something was wrong. It tried so hard. SCP-999 is showing signs of exhaustion and refuses to be taken from SCP-||||||’s containment cell. |||||| appears to be suffering from a severe case of depression. One that 999 seems to be incapable of treating. This is upsetting for 999, and unsettling for the foundation. This could mean the mental condition affecting ||||||| could be anomalous. 999 will be allowed to stay in its cell until further notice, or until it decides to leave itself. I am going to be up for a while longer taking care of paperwork, and checking on ||||||. We are unsure what we can do, but [The rest of the file has been expunged]
