Ough I hope you know how much I still think of that Scrapper expression request you did for me last year. Scrapper is so cool and amazing, and does not get the love or respect he deserves remotely, so it is always nice seeing others value him and enjoy him.

Do you have any thoughts on Hook and Scrapper's relationship? Especially since the Dreamwave bios mention how Scrapper is the only person Hook respects, and the way they're interact in so many scenes and within Constructicons Rising... they're just. So good. So loved.

Thank you!! That was my first time drawing Scrapper I think? The Constructicons are a part of my brainworms now so I've been drawing them a lot lately ^^

Have been in conversations with a friend and it didn't click for me about Scrapper yet until she mentioned how much of a lil weirdo he is. Then it made so much sense! He's the weird art kid that never had the shy awkward phase. He's fully confident with whatever avenue he takes his creativity. What if he's using live bodies? His vision is clearly unmatched! What's the point of making art if you can't test the boundaries in place by society?

The way I see Scrapper and Hook's relationship is that someone with that much creativity needs a critic to help push them to create better art. Hook fits perfectly as a perfectionist. He has high standards! They seem like the type to be bouncing ideas back and forth for long hours into the night, the next day, several months- This is how they got into the habit of finishing each other's sentences. They've spent so much time arguing what the right angle was more evocative, spent so much time in each others heads, that they know what the other is thinking about without using comms. I bet they met when Hook saw Scrapper's building plans for the first time and Hook said something so hurtful that it made Scrapper think "Huh, that's a challenge to me and my whole being? Ok!" He snagged his ass and never let go.

Alternatively, Hook saw how much a freak Scrapper is and spent an ungodly amount of time trying to figure him out until it pissed him off so much that he needed to work for him. Going from "Why him?! WHY?" to begrudgingly accepting that he likes the way Scrapper thinks to embracing that he needs to work with this madman. They will make so many amazing things together! Both things could have happened lol

Scrapper finds his teammates to be beautiful. Not necessarily born out of lust nor romance, but a certain appreciation he has for their frames. Every scar and every dent means another battle won, another day they get to survive— how could he ever find them to be anything less than perfect?

He believes wholeheartedly that their image deserves to be preserved not only in his memory, but in his art as well. To him, his gestalt are the most beautiful mechs in the galaxy, not just in the outside, but in their core. He finds that he could stare at them forever and never grow bored, and by now he knows their armor, every cable and joint, by heart.

It’s a high honor to be found to be so beautiful by him, I think.
