I did, followed you here before I knew them and a few years late was surprised someone from tumblr also were into them considering, how for some reason, they are not that recognized. 27 times?! Not gonna lie I'm very jealous, only managed to see them 5 times here in Europe... The first time I was completely blown away that a concert could have that energy and made me feel that way, easily one of my best memories. Not much into big crowds so them playing in small venues made it even more special every time we got to see them. One of my and my gfs dream vacation was that part of US, and seeing them live a couple of things was one of the things that attracted me the most.. One of the most cliché quotes but its actually something that makes me feel better whenever I remember they are over. "Don't cry because it's over. Smile because it happened." At least I got to see my favorite band, live AND on their peak 5 times!!! Sorry about the long message and hope you get to see many more concerts of band you like!
Thanks! It's still very cool that you saw them 5 times. I know they leave a very strong impression.
I was just remembering they used to have free "Baby Teeth" stickers at the merch table at most of their shows. I'd grab 10 or so stickers every show and carry them around with me everywhere so that I could give them out to people, kinda promoting the band everywhere I went. I felt like they were so important and impactful and that more people needed to experience their music. I still feel that way but it's unfortunate that people can't see them live anymore. I've been into them for about 10 years and during that time it felt like they were getting bigger and reaching more people. Their live shows were getting more explosive and they were playing with so much confidence and they were so tight musically. It just felt like they could go anywhere. I was already looking forward to their 20th anniversary show! It's crazy.
But it does make me smile that they came into my life at all. I leaned on them when I needed to and they always held up.
I would also like to share one of my favorite moments with the band, when they covered Helena by My Chemical Romance at their then-annual Garden Party event in Jersey City, NJ.
I pray for recovery
And took the time to say
You've been warned
Yeah I was just trying to catch the outro but what I got was the first of 2 back to back solos
