Forever dismayed that after years of public engagement the city is creating looser rules for TNR while also MAINTAINING the bylaw:

“Owned cats will be prohibited from roaming on private property without permission, while still being allowed on public property.”

Like OK, I don’t give any free roaming cats permission to go on my property and piss in my vegetable garden. What can I do about it if I don’t know the owner? Nothing! And what stops these cats from getting hit by cars bc the road is the only public property they can reach anyways? Nothing!

But hey, thank god we have all the cat rescue “stakeholders” really pushing for TNR though 🙄 who cares about any cat but the strays right? It feels soooo good to TNR a cat but it feels like shit to tell someone when they’re actually neglecting their pet so we better not bother with the latter.
