I’m on the west coast, Pacific Time, so I’m basically staying up till 12 am to see what news drops about the impending SAG strike. Basically, everything is going to have to stop at midnight exactly if it happens. . .
IWTV fans and followers? That means in about . . . 15 minutes or so, if they are shooting today, they’re going to have to stop.

James Cagney & Boris Karloff at the first annual Screen Actor’s Guild party (1940)
In 2000, Kevin Spacey was the first actor to make a donation of $100,000 to the striking SAG members. He made the gift to the Screen Actors Guild Foundation's assistance relief fund to support union members who have exhausted financial resources during the bitter strike against the ad industry. He said, "This gift is donated in the hope that others in our industry and beyond will find ways to help support the 100,000 members of the Screen Actors Guild whose health benefits and pension funds are at the heart and soul of this strike. As we return to the bargaining table, let us not forget that 80 per cent of SAG members earn less than $5,000 per year." | September 11, 2000
Union president Fran Drescher called the vote, aimed at improving the organization's leverage prior to its negotiations with studios and str
So SAG approved its Strike Authorization. About 98% of SAG members voted "Yes."
This means that if a deal between SAG and the AMPTP isn't reached by midnight on June 30, 2023, all of SAG will go on strike. Which means every actor in Hollywood will be on strike.
To act in a US-based and funded production, you have to be a member of SAG, with no exceptions. So if SAG goes on strike, every US-based funder production that is currently shooting is going to have to shut down indefinitely until at least the SAG strike is over.
Unlike with the WGA strike, there is no way productions can continue without the actors. (Not even the best Deep Fakes can be created in time to do it.) So SAG striking would for sure mean a 100% shutdown of the whole entertainment industry.
And yes, for my IWTV peeps, that means the production of Season 2 would have to stop and shut down, even though the shoot is taking place overseas. (FWIU, Season 2 isn't set to finish filming until the end of August). Sam, Jacob, Assad, Eric, and all the rest of the actors on the show would be considered to be crossing the picket line if they still went to the set to film if a strike is called for.
So June 30th is the date to look for. Because, like the WGA, I don't think SAG is going to waste any time to start their strike if a deal with the AMPTP isn't met.
Interview with the Vampire will no longer be at SDCC 2023
You can read about it here:

The panel has been cancelled, due to the SAG Strike. Lots of other panels as well.
SAG-AFTRA has taken to the medium of the moment — TikTok — to send the message that it is ready to begin a work stoppage as soon as next wee
Look, they still have until July 12th to come to a deal with the AMPTP, but . . . SAG has already begun strike preparations. For real.
Again, the deadline is midnight on July 12th. But I feel SAG knows they can get everything they ask for if the AMPTP won't play ball and SAG strikes. Because if SAG strikes, the whole industry shuts down, period. Everything that is filming completely stops. Anything that might be in pre-production, stops. Studios will start losing a lot of money every day a SAG strike goes on.
So, yeah. Particularly when it comes to streaming, I don't think SAG will give in to any lesser deal. IMO, it will have to be very, very close to what SAG is asking for for a strike to be avoided.
For my IWTV followers and fandom, the show just announced they will be at Comic-Con, but if a strike hits, yeah. They're not going to be there. A strike means none of the actors will be doing any promotions or events, along with stopping filming.
Though I kinda wonder if they are close to done filming Season 2 already anyway, given they seemed to have time to break and come to Comic-Con. So even if a strike happens, they might not actually have much left to film before it hits. We'll see.
