"Soundwave decided there was nothing better than example- then again, he spent enough time in the field that jumping off and into and out of things had to be second nature for his own survival. He lunged forward, curling up to land more evenly into the water with a splash, the ocean starting to obscure and engulf him. Before disappearing completely, he came back up in a bubbling splatter, holding himself at the edge of the water by controlled buoyancy in his empty chest compartment. Flattening it completely would send him deeper in the water, like a swim bladder. He looked up at the mech, wet metal shimmering above the surface, while the rest of his frame below grew dull and blue-green the further it was from the light.

The scientist gazed down at the cassette player, there was a hint of humor in his optic but that didn’t last long when he realized that it was his turn. He took a few steps to the side to create some distance between his expected landing area and Soundwave. Taking no chances with trying to replicate the more graceful mech’s form, Shockwave simply walked off the platform.

His descent was far more rapid than his companion’s and the aftersplash was large enough to send Soundwave away in a frenzy if he wasn’t careful. Though, he did not float upward like Soundwave, for he sank like the 70 ton rock he is."

The doors slid open, granting the cassette player entrance. The laboratory seemed the same with no difference unless one studied the given links word by word. All plugs were covered, heavy equipment was either put fully away or put up out of reach from tiny servos. The lights were softened, locked cabinets, buffered corners, and even a small pen, possibly commissioned by the Constructions in a tucked away corner that was still well into view. It was littered with soft padding and a few sparkling appropriate pillows. There was also a small stuffed wrench, crudely sewn, possibly by one of the constructions as well.

The scientist swiveled around in his seat to hopefully capture Soundwave being impressed in him. He obviously took it upon himself to do further research and create an extensive mental database on the assigned topic. 

Soundwave looked surprised, if one looked hard enough to see his minute change in posture and the way he looked all around the room a few times over. With how hard he was staring it was either concern, or that he was truly impressed. Likely both.

The sparkling in his arms was extremely awake, wiggling and lightly kicking on its way in, though now it was quietly looking over its surroundings. When it found Shockwave across the room it seemed less frightened of him, though still cautious. By momentum of the cassette player, the scientist came closer and closer into its vision until it stared with wide open optics, blinking. 

Soundwave spoke. “Shockwave: Has done research,” he applauded indirectly. 

“I aim to be prepared at all times”, he preened, glancing at the sparkling. He still hasn’t yet fully registered that the thing came from him, but he knew it was a dual responsibility between himself and the communications officer, therefore this needed to be handled seriously.
