02/14/21 Valentine’s Day Audio Drama recommendation! I think this is almost more of a Gal-entine’s Day show, rather than a Valentine’s Day show because the main character, X: the girl in Girl In Space needs no one. She is perfectly content with her life making science, cheese, and watching the universe’s oldest copy of Jurassic Park. Then some weird stuff starts happening around her. I’m really excited to report that The Mutual Audio Network is re-releasing on their Terror Tuesday feature, Wormwood: A Serialized Mystery from Habit-Forming Films, created by David Accampo and Jeremy Rogers. Wormwood is one of my favorite Audio Drama series ever. It is as if Twin Peaks and Dark Shadows had a love child after a messy drunken hook-up on the last night of Dragon-Con. This occult mystery that begins with Dr. Xander Crowe’s vision of a drowned woman that leads him to the town of Wormwood. It is sometimes scary, sometimes funny, and full of bizarre, and colorful characters. Wormwood was made back in the early days of podcasting. There are moments when the sound quality can be rough, but I feel that it works for the show. I think of it as the audible equivalent of the rough gray pulp paper of an issue of Weird Stories, EC Comic Book. The colors might be a little muted, but the line-work of the story is still sharp and clear!
