I've now had a hundred hits on my Stardew Valley fic, Choices: Spring and am ridiculously happy about that fact (even if it's just people reading the prologue and bouncing). Considering it's a slow-burn longfic interweaving three massive expansion mods for an eight-year-old video game about farming, I sincerely doubted anyone would have much interest in it. Those readers are awesome and deserve their preferred beverages and sweet treats.
Since I can't provide that, however, I do have Chapter 7, "Flirtations," now up on Ao3. Philip invites Callie to dinner. Jeric tries to use his horse to score Callie's number. Sterling looks damn good in leather. Oh, and the leads discover an unexpected connection.

“Heard you took the new farmer out on a date the other night,” said Dr. Harvey. Sterling glanced over sharply at the other two men sitting at the end of the bar. Dr. Harvey had an impish grin on his face, while that blond out of Ridgeside (Will? Phil? Bill? The guy that got Callie’s number) blushed and rubbed the back of his head. “Paula has a big mouth. It wasn’t a date,” he denied. Good. “Are you sure? Heard you took her upstairs at the hotel and then out to dinner afterwards,” the doctor replied, surprising Sterling. The man, normally an anxious mess, rarely indulged in this sort of teasing. Sterling would have enjoyed it more if they weren’t talking about Callie.

there’s a rival hearts mod about alex and jeric from ridgeside and now that i actually know jeric all i can say is that’s fucking brilliant. there’s so much potential there. i am almost certain i will download this mod for my playthrough because i want to see this so goddamn bad.
a few months back somebody sent in an ask saying they’d read an alex x jeric fic if i wrote it, and much to my chegrine i found myself outlining a story and i wrote out the first chapter. what i’ve learned so far is that creative writing is FUCKING HARD
oh my god. there’s so much to think about. dialogue, characterization, narration, plot, pacing, etc. honestly i might be in over my head with the amount of shit i want to put in this story and i have no idea if it’ll see the light of day. i don’t even know if my writing is anything better than embarrassing.
the one thing i’m happy with so far is the ideas i have for this story. i have a few scenes that are, in my mind, delightfully romantic. and considering there’s so little content out there for this pairing i feel a little better about the idea that mine won’t be picture perfect.
ok so i still think alex x jeric from ridgeside still has so much potential. i want a slow burn. i want alex internalized homophobia. i want sunshine flirty jeric who alex slowly realizes he’s falling for and has a crisis over it. i want it to be angsty but eventually cute. this is all i want honestly, i would write it myself but writing fiction terrifies me lmao
I wanted to post the link to I’ll Be Like One Of Your Girls one more time because I just uploaded the final chapter this morning! I truly can’t believe it’s done; I’ve been absolutely blown away by just how much attention it’s been getting for such a niche pair. These two are my children and I love them so much.

It's fucking ready!!! I've spent like, all month working on this fic with the help of one of my best friends. There's not a lot of Alex x Jeric content out there, so I thought I'd try my hand at writing a bit of a longer story for them.
