My 25 years of palaeoart chronology…
In 2021 I created a bunch of vignettes for a new book, called SEA MAMMALS, by Annalisa Berta. They were quick to produce and a fun change from my big Mesozoic landscapes, which take weeks to complete.

“Me and Okuto snorkeled in the springs yesterday! Got some awesome photo’s of west Indian manatees! ( ˶ˆᗜˆ˵ )”
Good Morning. Isn’t this Mini Manatee adorable? I just love Manatees. On my last morning in Hilton Head I was sitting on the balcony having coffee and saw a Manatee swimming into Shelter Cove Marina. I was so excited that I ran down to the waters edge an took a video of it. I thought I was going to miss seeing them. They usually start coming in May and then start leaving in October. I was so happy that I got to see one before I left. If you’d like to make this one yours link is in my profile. Have a Fantastic Friday.(((BigHugs))) 🙂💖🌊 . . . . . #kimmiesclaykreations #polymerclay #handmade #manatee #manatees #seacow #seacows #artist #polymerclayartist #aquatic #sealife #marinelife #seacreature #seacreatures #underthesea #undertheocean #hiltonheadisland #sheltercovemarina #ocean #beach #florida #beach #beachdecor #beachdecoration #collectibleart #adorableface #cuteface #blueeyes #sweet #loveable https://www.instagram.com/p/CPI0mmWBY7u/?utm_medium=tumblr

Sea cows (or manatees) inhabit the shallow, marshy coastal areas and rivers of the Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico, the Amazon basin, and West Africa.
West Indian manatees prefer warmer temperatures and are known to congregate in shallow waters. They frequently migrate through brackish water estuaries to freshwater springs. They cannot survive below 15 °C (60 °F). Their natural source for warmth during winter is warm, spring-fed rivers.

The Center for Biological Diversity, Defenders of Wildlife and the Save the Manatee Club filed a notice of intent to sue the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, alleging that it has violated federal law by not updating designated critical-habitat areas to better protect manatees. 📷 @wpbf25news #manatee #manatees #seacow #seacows #marinemammals #habitat #extinction #endangeredspecies #seagrass #seacreatures #marina #oceanlife #ocean #sea https://www.instagram.com/p/CSzCbkeL20O/?utm_medium=tumblr
