I came across this article in the New York Times thanks to a friend who know how deep I‘m into SEALS trying to gather as much knowledge as possible.

Steve McGarrett is a SEAL and he owns my heart and soul. His devotion is the reason I’m a proud owner of about 30 books about the Navy and documentaries about retired SEALS and their life experience. And it‘s important to me to know both sides of the medal. So, this article is super hard to read but it’s also part of becoming a SEAL. These young men go through hell, countless times, and Steve was one of them.

I love SEAL!Steve and I know you've written a lot about that part of his life, but it's hard to find them through you fic. (we need a SEAL!Steve tag) But seriously. Like you could point to me to you most SEAL(ish) Steve fic? Thank you!

Sorry. This has been in my inbox a while but I just had time to really think on this. I try to incorporate SEAL thinking/mentality in my fic since that is a huge influence on Steve’s life especially in action scenes. I combed through my back catalogue and tried to pick stuff with a heavier influence. Hope this helps! (Oi, this seems very self-indulgent..eep)

Distant Shores-  McDanno.WWII AU set in the Pacific. Underwater Demolition Teams were the first Navy SEALs.

Protégé Gen. Steve teaches Kono how to be a sniper.

Beneath the Trident  McDanno. Steve and Danny go undercover fic. Steve as leader of a new SEAL team and Danny as the reporter assigned to shadow him.

Life Is The Fire In Which We Burn Gen. Traces Steve’s early life and through the military.

No Way Out But Through McDanno. Big old hurt/comfort case fic. But Steve uses his Naval Intel skills and we learn about his struggles to overcome injury.

Crossroads McDanno . Steve contemplates life after the Navy when he receives a prestigious medal.

Remnants McDanno. Steve races agasint time to safe Danny. I literally wrote this whole story just so I could write this giant  SEAL!Steve action scene aboard a Russian ship.

Fueling the Human Weapon McDanno. Steve-centric. A study of Steve’s relationship with food including a huge emphasis of how being a SEAL had on it.

The Space Between Us McDanno. Danny being there when Steve recovers from decompression sickness after a training incident.
