Ingredients: 4 bone-in pork chops. Salt and pepper to taste. 2 tablespoons butter. 2 tablespoons olive oil. 2 large onions, thinly sliced. 2 tablespoons brown sugar. 1 teaspoon balsamic vinegar. Chopped fresh parsley for garnish.
Instructions: Add salt and pepper to the pork chops. In a big pan, heat up 1 tablespoon of olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter over medium-high heat. Place the pork chops in the pan and sear them for three to four minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and fully cooked. Take it out of the pan and set it aside. Put the last tablespoon of butter and the last tablespoon of olive oil into the same pan. After you add the sliced onions, cook for 5 to 7 minutes, or until the onions get soft and caramelized. Add the brown sugar and balsamic vinegar and stir them in. Cook for two more minutes, until the onions are covered and caramelized. Put the pork chops back in the pan after they've been seared and top them with the caramelized onions. Serve the Seared Butter Pork Chops with Brown Sugar Onions hot with chopped fresh parsley on top. These pork chops are seared in butter and taste great with sweet brown sugar onions that have caramelized.
