Ingredients: 1 cup all-purpose flour. 1/2 cup cocoa powder. 1 tsp baking powder. 1/2 tsp baking soda. 1/4 tsp salt. 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened. 1 cup granulated sugar. 2 large eggs. 1 tsp vanilla extract. 1/2 cup buttermilk. 1/2 cup dulce de leche. For Frosting:. 1 cup unsalted butter, softened. 2 cups powdered sugar. 1/2 cup cocoa powder. 1/4 cup milk. 1/2 tsp salt. 1/2 tsp vanilla extract. Sea salt flakes for garnish.

Instructions: Warm up your oven to 350F 175C and put cupcake liners in a muffin tin. Whisk the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt together in a bowl. Melt the butter and mix it with the sugar in another bowl until the mixture is light and fluffy. Adding the eggs one at a time and mixing them in is the next step. Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing them in with buttermilk every so often. Start with the dry ingredients and end with the buttermilk. Don't mix any further than that. Add the dulce de leche and mix it in until it's spread out evenly. Fill each cupcake liner about two thirds of the way to the top with batter. After the oven is hot, bake the cupcakes for 18 to 20 minutes, or until a toothpick stuck in the middle comes out clean. Take the cupcakes out of the oven and let them cool for 5 minutes in the pan before moving them to a wire rack to cool all the way through. For the frosting, beat the butter until it is smooth and creamy. Add the powdered sugar and cocoa powder one at a time, mixing well after each addition. It will be smooth and fluffy after you add the milk, salt, and vanilla extract. Once the cupcakes are cool enough to handle, pipe or spread frosting on top of each one. For a great salty-sweet contrast, sprinkle with a few sea salt flakes. You should serve your Salted Dulce de Leche Chocolate Cupcakes and enjoy them!
