Kelly was born and raised in Louisiana and has a pretty big family with a twin brother and two younger siblings, her parents are still married (even though they don’t act like it), they are both big time lawyers, so they were never really present. She was practically raised by her aunt, they are still pretty close and can’t stay more than a few days without talking with each other.

Her grandparents owned a lot of farm land throughout Louisiana and Texas, where she spent almost of her summer vacations at, so she absolutely adores the country side and has a dream of moving somewhere quiet when she’s older.

            when  lim  jin - hwan’s  wife  wants  a  change  of  scenery  during  her  pregnancy,  renting  a  property  on  jeju  island  made  sense.  jin - hwan  and  his  wife,  lim  hyun -mi,  move  to  jeju  island  when  she’s  only  three  months  along  and  she  settles  as  a  stay - at - home  wife  while  jin - hwan  takes  a  job  at  a  local  hospital.  the  couple  live  comfortably,  and  six  months  later,  they  welcome  their  beautiful  baby  son  into  the  world.  they’d  been  bickering  for  the  duration  of  hyun - mi’s  pregnancy  over  picking  the  right  name  for  him,  and  for  three  days,  the  little  baby  had  been  simply  known  as  baby  lim  until  they  decided  on  one.  

            lim  jae - geun  is  officially  named  just  thirty  minutes  shy  of  hitting  day  four  of  not  having  a  name,  and  his  parents  are  ecstatic.  they’re  able  to  take  him  home  and  smother  him  in  the  love  they’d  been  wanting  to,  and  growing  up  on  jeju  was  a  dream  come  true.  while  jin - hwan  worked,  jae - geun  and  hyun - mi  would  be  in  the  garden,  planting  fruits  or  whatever  plant  jae - geun’s  tiny  hands  reached  for.  when  jin - hwan  came  home,  father  and  son  would  be  loud  and  rambunctious,  playing  with  toys  and  bringing  them  to  life.  after  two  years  on  jeju,  the  family  moves  back  to  brisbane  when  hyun - mi  is  presented  with  a  new  job  prospect.

            the  family  settles  in  brisbane,  living  comfortably  and  close  to  jin - hwan’s  parents.  jae - geun  spent  time  with  his  grandparents  after  school,  sometimes  hanging  out  with  them  at  their  small  grocery  store.  jae - geun  grew  up  in  a  creative  household  despite  his  parents’  ‘  traditional  ’  jobs,  so  it  was  no  surprise  that  he  discovered  a  love  of  drawing  at  a  young  age.  at  first,  it  consisted  mostly  of  trying  to  draw  his  favorite  superheroes  and  anime  characters,  but  as  he  moved  towards  middle  school  jae - geun  began  drawing  his  own  original  artwork.  he  participated  in  art  clubs,  and  it  was  during  one  of  these  art  club  meetings  that  jae - geun  began  to  find  an  interest  in  clothing  design.

            his  teacher  taught  him  how  to  properly  use  a  sewing  machine,  and  it  was  nothing  but  love  from  there.  from  then  on,  jae  could  be  found  sewing  patches  onto  his  jackets  or  getting  in  trouble  for  using  his  grandma’s  favorite  blanket  to  create  a  funky  pair  of  pants  that  fit  absolutely  no  one.  jae  had  fallen  in  love  with  fashion  design,  and  when  he  graduated  from  high  school,  he  used  his  newfound  skills  to  support  himself  while  he  contemplated  his  next  steps  in  life.  he  customizes  clothes  and  gains  experience  through  working  at  various  stores,  sticking  close  to  home  especially  when  his  grandmother  falls  ill.  he  takes  community  college  courses  to  get  himself  started,  and  it’s  by  chance  that  he  discovers  s.s.  university.  

            jae - geun  applies  for  a  spot  on  the  ship,  fully  expecting  for  it  to  be  something  of  a  scam.  he  waits  for  the  ‘  send  money  to  get  a  spot  !  ’  email,  but  instead  he’s  greeted  with  a  bold  you’ve  been  accepted.  still  attending  his  community  college  at  the  time,  jae - geun  talks  it  over  with  his  parents,  and  they  push  him  to  pursue  something  new.  so,  after  his  spring  semester  and  after  the  summer  has  passed,  jae - geun  finds  himself  boarding  the  ship  a  little  over  a  year  ago  to  pursue  his  dream  of  working  in  fashion.

very  casual  when  it  comes  to  intimate  relationships,  but  he’s  not  the  worst  kind  of  guy.  he’s  only  ever  felt  feelings  for  a  handful  of  people  in  his  life,  the  main  one  being  his  pre - planned  connection  to  student  #23.  aside  from  that,  he  seeks  intimacy  with  others,  but  he  struggles  with  actually  pursuing  love  and  relationships.

As a kid, Jonah had a solid familiar structure; he was raised by his biological uncle and his wife in Paris, France, where he grew up and spent most of his life. He had little to no connection with his biological parents, as they had no interest or were available to raise a kid. Somewhere during his childhood, the adoption by his uncle and aunt was formalized.

He had a happy childhood under their care, with lots of playing around, and being a good kid— good grades, never getting in trouble, always kind to others; he had trouble though trying to stand up for his ideas; he was the quiet type, with lots on his mind. He grew to be more social during his teens, as his interest in music grew and he started posting videos on youtube.

Jonah is obviously not worldwide famous or anything, but he is quite well known, and started making a reasonable amount of money out of small gigs and posted videos. When he started thinking about college, he took some time before actually joining, but when he did, he tried a scholarship in SS to travel the world and trying to get his music out there. His adoptive parents are very supportive of his choices.

Jude had a fairly happy childhood, despite coming from lower-income. He lived with his parents in a tiny, cramped apartment for most of his life. Luckily they had always been a close bunch and they made it work.

His parents always knew something was different about Jude. Although they didn’t quite know what it was, they always made it clear to Jude that they would love him no matter what. This made things a lot easier on him when he started to question his gender identity as a teenager. Jude considers himself lucky because his parents were incredibly accepting of him when he came out as transgender. 

Being from a lower-class family, Jude knew the only way he could ever hope to attend college was to get a scholarship. Luckily school came easy to him. He especially thrived in classes where he got to be creative --- English, drama, and photography were his favorites.

Jude has always been in love with film. Although he’s friendly and happy to be your friend, he’s awkward and much prefers to be behind of a camera than in front of it. He especially grew frustrated by the lack of representation in mainstream Hollywood movies, and vowed that he would be the one to change that. His main goal in life is to direct documentaries ( hence him always carrying around an outdated, bulky video camera and recording people --- with permission of course! ) His ultimate dream is to open a production companies where he can uplift BIPOC, LGBTQ+, women, disabled, and all marginalized voices both in front of the camera and behind it. He remembers vividly how isolating it was to never see anyone like him on television. 

He’s the biggest romantic nerd you ever did meet. When he falls for someone, he falls hard ( which is to say he falls in love a million times a day with anybody who smiles at him ). This led to him getting engaged to Muse #55. He was devastated when their engagement ended. ( SKELETON CONNECTION ).

BACKGROUND | BULLET POINTS: 

born in busan, south korea to moon in-ha and choi ji-hoon. an extremely happily married couple, the kind who made people look at them and roll their eyes but also smile at the same time because they were too adorable not to elicit one from onlookers. yuri was their first and only child, not for the lack of trying, because while they loved her, they both lived far too busy schedules to care for more than one child and struggled enough as it were to care for yuri. 

her father was an attorney with yoon & yang llc and her mother owned her own restaurant, which was incredibly popular and in high-demand, particularly among tourists. yuri spent a lot of her time there as a child, doodling in her sketchbook and latching onto her mother whenever possible. 

yuri was four when her mother, unbeknownst to her at the time because she was far too little to understand, was diagnosed with cancer. the doctors had caught it too late, but that didn’t stop in-ha from doing treatments anyway. she fought until she no loner could, when yuri was six, going on seven and lived a lot longer than the doctors had been under the impression she would. 

after in-ha’s death, yuri’s father threw himself even more into his work and a lot of yuri’s time was spent either with her friends and their parents or with whatever nanny he hired that week to take care of her. he attempted to be as present as he could in yuri’s life, but his wife’s death had taken a toll on him and it would take months for him to recover enough to be the type of father he wanted to be. 

while yuri hadn’t been thrilled with it, the then eleven year old had been semi-pleased to see her father start dating again. he’d met a woman from america, a painter and museum curator from chicago, who had traveled to korea for vacation, as well to do some business, and the two formed a serious relationship that was long-distance for a little over a year before he announced that they’d be moving from korea to live with her, as well as her child who yuri had yet to meet, in chicago 

adjusting to life in chicago had been difficult at first, particularly given the language barrier because she had been so accustomed to speaking mostly korean back in busan, but she eventually adjusted and felt comfortable enough to start attempting to enjoy her life again. however, there wasn’t a day that went by where she didn’t miss her mother and somewhat resent her father for moving her to a not only a new city, but an entirely different country, where she didn’t know a single soul. 

it was around her second year of high school that she decided she wanted to follow in her father’s footsteps and go into law. she became obsessed with true crime shows and shows like law & order and loved watching the attorneys put the bad guys away for life or longer. and while she did love art and probably always would, she couldn’t see herself making a career out of it. mostly because she felt like making it her job would suck the fun out of it for her and she wanted it to forever be that special talent of hers that tied her to her mother. 

yuri couldn’t have been more thrilled to get accepted into the program and given the opportunity to attend school while traveling. while neither her father nor her step mother were lacking in money, by any means, she had refused their help for school and had worked her hardest to win an academic scholarship to attend-- and she had. she was a lot of things, not all of them great, but she was almost stubborn to a fault and possessed a determination that rivaled that of her mothers and had refused to give up until she got her way. 

PERSONALITY: 

as mentioned above, she is impossibly stubborn, to the point of it being obnoxious at times. she’s blunt, but never intends to be rude and will apologize should she offend. strong on the surface, not all the way through, as the song goes. she has the tendency to be petty & hold grudges. screw her over once and she won’t give you a second chance, because she doesn’t feel like second chances are something that should be given to begin with. she’s incredibly creative and adventurous, but also very withdrawn. more often than not, she prefers to keep to herself and not surround herself with a lot of people. loyal and trustworthy, but distrusting as all hell and absolutely does not wear her heart on her sleeve. she doesn’t really like getting attached to people. it’s more of a subconscious thing, relating to her mother’s death when she was younger. she’s just afraid of losing people but won’t acknowledge it or really deal with it. she’s super prideful and, in her case, that isn’t a good thing. sweet as pie. very caring. the type of friend that you want to have on your side but the kind of enemy that you don’t want. hyper-focused, doesn’t get easily distracted. will choose to study over party on any given day. because while she is fun loving, she’s also very serious about her major and will put school before any/all relationships, for the most part. anyway, that’s all i can think of for now, but will add more as i get to know her as a muse. 

EXTRA: 

she’s multilingual. fluent in korean, english, japanese, mandarin, and is learning french. she’s obsessed with languages and wants to be fluent in as many as she possibly can learn. 

she’s bisexual. she’s kind of always been aware of it. her first major crush when she was little was on this girl in her school so that kind of made it obvious for her. 

she loves to sketch, paint, sculpt. if it’s art-related, she’s at least attempted it once. she also really loves photography and will take pictures everywhere that she goes and post them on her instagram. she basically only uses insta for her photography, for the most part. 

loves music. will sing sometimes, but her shower is her only audience and her showerhead is her microphone. 

she still has the sketchbook her mother gave her when she was little. it’s falling apart, but she doesn’t ever plan to lose it and would probably never forgive herself if she did because it’s one of the few things she has left of her mother. 

has probably one of the most laid back styles ever. she prefers sweats and t-shirts and caps over dressing up any day. the way she sees it, she can still look amazing and be comfortable while doing it. owns more jordans/sneakers than is probably necessary. 

1000% insta-famous for all of the photography/art that she posts. 

she sells her art on the side, as a fun little hobby but most of it, she keeps because she doesn’t want to part with it. another big reason she didn’t choose art as her major, it’s all just too precious to her. 

her major is criminology, with the goal of becoming a laywer. she isn’t certain what type of lawyer she wants to be; probably a prosecuting attorney, with the intent to prosecute the actually guilty. 

she’s obsessed with pop figures. the top of her dresser is covered with them.

probably the most ideal roommate ever, given that she prefers to keep to herself, like, eighty percent of the time. only thing that sucks about her is her showers are long af, but at least she doesn’t take forever getting ready in the mornings?? so that’s a brightside, kind of. 

is an overachiever and damn proud of it. will shove her accomplishments in someone’s face whenever given the opportunity but only when she’s prompted to ( she tries not to be TOO obnoxious about it ) 

doesn’t really care if people know that she’s on academic scholarship. after all, she has money, just didn’t use it to get into school

ever since declan was a kid, he felt out of step with his peers. picture that kid who sat in the back of class with headphone cords slinked up the sleeve of his hoodie so he could listen to music instead of paying attention, never responded to any texts and was mysteriously not on any social media, and you’ll start to get a picture of the way declan looked from the outside.

declan grew up with a single father who worked two jobs. his relationship with his dad was pretty normal. they didn’t have many family traditions or spend lots of time with extended family. his dad sort of let him raise himself while he worked, and declan was fine with that. he never really questioned where his mother was; all he knew was that she lived in south korea and had given full custody to declan’s dad shortly after his first birthday. declan and his dad lived in adelaide, australia, so he never saw her after that. when declan was seventeen, his father married a woman he’d met at church. declan gained an older step-sister, but she was already living on her own with children and a family of her own, so declan didn’t ever bond with her. he was happy for his dad, he guessed, that he wouldn’t be alone once declan left.

the one place declan always felt he belonged was between his two ears, in his own mind, alone with his thoughts and, ideally, music. he really loves electronic music and can also play several instruments: harmonica, piano/keyboard, bass guitar, drums, and ukelele. he likes to make beats on his computer and operate one of those lo-fi beats accounts on youtube. since he didn’t have a lot of money  ( or friends )  growing up, he would go to pawn shops and thrift stores and buy cheap instruments and music books and teach himself how to mess around on them. now he plans to work in the music industry and produce music for a living because no other subject really holds his interest. also ... he’s really talented, though he doesn’t know it really. he thinks he’s pretty average, but he’s not insecure.

he’s a minimalist through and through, and that includes with friends and relationships. he’s definitely a loner  ( which gets to him sometimes, but he won’t admit it because ... well, who would he tell ? )  and he never grew out of his emo phase.  ( sadboi ? )   he uses sexuality as a way to connect with people, even if it’s all artificial and just on the surface. at least if he’s having sex or kissing someone, it’s concrete enough for him to understand he has their attention and understanding  ( something he feels he rarely gets in conversation. )  he’s bisexual and doesn’t have any preference in gender, and he’s had romantic relationships before, but never been in love. truthfully, he doesn’t even know how to be a boyfriend or how to fall in love. writing music about it is one thing, but actually doing it is a whole other thing. if you heard his music, you’d think he’s really deep and romantic, but actually getting to know him you’d find that he’s learned how to create art about others’ experiences, not his own. 

that all being said, declan yearns to be seen and understood, just like anyone else. he is a good listener, observant, soft-spoken and a little socially awkward in most situations. generally he is a good friend, but he may be unreliable if he is wrapped up in a project or his own thoughts. you may also find him with dark circles or bags under his eyes because he suffers from insomnia and rarely sleeps.

raylee was born and raised in london by her mother for the first eight years of her life. her mother was sick for most of her life and raylee took care of her a lot. they didn’t have a lot of money but they made it work. on her eighth birthday, she had to take her mom back to the hospital and she never came home from that trip. something she and her mother had always shared was their love of music. in fact, she was named after the one and only, john raylee. after her mother passed, she found it hard to enjoy singing, or music at all. raylee missed music but was too painful of a memory for her. after spending a few years in foster care, never in one home for very long, she had enough. she practically raised herself when she was younger, she could surely do it now, right? she ran away from her foster home and after living on the street for about a week, two women insisted she come in and they would feed her and let her warm up. they offered to let her stay the night and after that, she never left. after having stayed with them for a while, the women decided they wanted to officially adopt her. as soon as she graduated, she wanted to go travelling but money was a little too tight for both her and her moms. when she heard about the ss university, it seemed like the perfect solution and she was lucky her academics were able to secure her a spot.
