Here is a photo from our morning trip to Saint Martins this week. It marks a small accomplishment of pushing our comfort zone in off roading a little bit further, and getting to places we normally would not be able to access easily. Today we returned from a great end of year winter camping experience. and got lots of new photos to share over the next bit. I didn't have time to process the photos today, but I'm looking forward to sharing when I do. Thanks everyone for the likes, comments, messages, print orders, and shares - I don't respond to all comments but do appreciate and read every one. A stroll along the beach at Oregon Islands National Wildlife Refuge stands out. Haystack Rock, a famous 235 ft sea stack, rises out from the coastline, providing a stunning visual and vital nesting grounds for seabirds. The refuge protects over 320 miles of Oregon coastline, including 1,853 small islands, rocks, reefs and two headlands. Puffins and murres raise their young and seals and sea lions use the islands to rest and give birth to their pups. No matter what time of year one visits the Oregon coast, there's plenty to see and enjoy. Bring binoculars and your sense of wonder to appreciate the unparalleled beauty of this coastal refuge. Seastacks and the stars by Hilary Bralove Via Flickr: Here is another milky way photo from a special night on the Oregon coast. Without clouds for a sunset, it was time to try for another late season milky way. The nearby lights of the homes and motels lit up the rocks pretty nicely for a longer exposure photo. This is a two image exposure blend. One shot was exposing the for the foreground and rocks, the other for the milky way sky. We were very lucky to still be able to see most of the milky way core before it set into the ocean at around 8:15pm. Nikon D850 with Nikkor 14mm-24mm F2.8 lens at 24 mm Sky; !5 images stacked using starry landscape stacker for noise reduction into one image, ISO 10,000, F2.8, 10 seconds. Foreground: ISO 4000, F6.3, 30seconds.

Duncansby Head - 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Scotland Duncansby Head is the most north easterly point on the British mainland, and has some of the most impressive sea stacks the whole island has to offer. The cliffs are said to be home of one of Britain’s best sea bird colonies due to the irregularly eroded shapes and fish filled waters, and is a fantastic place to spot puffins! Duncansby Stacks are sometime referred to as Witches Hat Stacks, which I’m sure you can understand why! They are an amazing site to behold, and truly show how some of the best sites are off the beaten track.
