Part 3/3
Had zero internet and data yesterday in Big Sur. Then I fell at the top of the peak and sprained my ankle ☠️. Sadge, but I did get to see my blessed lupine, Redwoods, and cradled an acorn woodpecker who fell into a crevice. After all the fires, it was sweet to see baby Redwoods coming back so sweet and new. The peak was fine, but the understory always has my heart.

Garrapata in Big Sur CA. A majority of the trail on the eastern side of hwy 1 is still closed due to the Sobranes wildfire, however about 1.8miles is open. The trail is easy to moderate in some spots and offers stunning views of the coast, cliffs and surrounding mountains.
If you visit, please remember to leave the trail better than you found it, there are trash receptacles available at the trail head. (Banana peals, nut and seed casing are trash, please don’t discard them hoping they’ll decompose)
