Stacks of Duncansby
Good Morning from Scotland
Duncansby Head Sunrise by Ross Scott Via Flickr: Sunrise on a very windy morning at Duncansby Head , Caithness.
Duncansby Head - 🏴 Scotland Duncansby Head is the most north easterly point on the British mainland, and has some of the most impressive sea stacks the whole island has to offer. The cliffs are said to be home of one of Britain’s best sea bird colonies due to the irregularly eroded shapes and fish filled waters, and is a fantastic place to spot puffins! Duncansby Stacks are sometime referred to as Witches Hat Stacks, which I’m sure you can understand why! They are an amazing site to behold, and truly show how some of the best sites are off the beaten track. Fun fact: Duncansby head may be the most north eastern point on the mainland, but nearby John o’Groats is one end of the longest distance between two inhabited spots in Britain. #duncansbyhead #duncansby #caithness #scotland #uk #europe #seastacks #sea #bythesea #rockformation #visitscotlamd #explorescotland #discoverscotland #beautifulscotland #instascotland #wheretovisit #travel #travelguide #discovermoretravels #travelinspiration #travelinfo #travelphotography #travelblogger #travelgram #travelholic #beautifuldestinations #exploremore #worlderlust #ilovetravel (at Duncansby Head Lighthouse) https://www.instagram.com/p/B6YU3XlHRrF/?igshid=q9e2tumrfoq3

Good Morning from Scotland.
A dawn view of Duncansby Head lighthouse, Caithness, Scotland by Ian Cowe Via Flickr: One of the last lighthouses to be built by the famous Stevenson Dynasty in 1924. The lighthouse was not round like older towers to save money. It marks the far North-East point of the British mainland and the entrance to the notorious Pentland Firth. Pentland Skerries lighthouse can be seen in the background.
