mermaid emerges from the ocean after two years of lying on the ocean floor, has never learned how to blend into society

I’ve started slowly getting back into neopets, so a lot of the oc refs I’ve been redoing have been neopets. To the left is my faerie xweetok mermaid Seazoa (Sea), and the right is my eventide alien Ariscov (Risco).

i was tired 30 minutes ago but i just ate starbursts so i’ll type a bit more.

(i desperately need to rewrite his page but) i think it’s about time Lobo will have to go back to being a guardian faerie once more. i had planned on being near the time milk would start high school is when they’d start to grow apart. they no longer share the same interests, are getting a little too old to be playmates. Lobo seems to bring out Milk’s inner child, as Milk was always such a mature child for her age, but now that she’s a teenager, she’s not sure if she wants that part awakened anymore.

At the same time, even though she doesn’t know Lobo’s true identity, Milk doesn’t want to let go of him just yet. He’s always been there, even if they don’t click as well anymore. She doesn’t want to just drop him, though I feel like Lobo would prefer this. Now it seems they’re starting to just naturally grow apart as they grow older. It makes me a little sad; Lobo never thought he’d get this attached, but he truly grew up with Milk, and he knows that once he goes back with the guardian faeries, he’ll likely never see her again. He also knows that he’ll have to give Milk the option on whether or not she’d want to keep her memories of him.

speaking of OCs moving on, it’s high time Sea did. Sea is still pining for a love that was never requited, and a love that is never ever coming back. She knew Ancylo was not coming back from the beginning, but to keep herself from falling into despair, she gave herself false hope that he would one day return. She repeated this over and over, to the point where she started to believe it, and now often hallucinates that he has returned. Once she realized it was happening, she wanted this to stop. Though she tries, she still seems to see his face everywhere and falsely believes he has returned.

Howo has mostly moved on from being cheated on and abandoned for over a year, considering that was 2010. Though she fell out of love with Hiss in the same year, the results still were scathing, what with the ugly purple scar on her wrist and her being unable to congratulate her sister on getting married until two years after it happened. It’s taken a while, but she’s been able to cool her head.

Given her lack of success with multiple relationships, Howo is still kind of warped in that aspect. She no longer “fools herself” into thinking someone is interested in her, which scares her to death when she eventually falls hard for Jak. Even though Jak’s advances are subtle, kind, and fairly obvious from an outside standpoint, Howo mistakenly perceives it as friendliness, rather than romantic intentions.

One of my favorite things about my OC site was something I added over a year ago as a little fun fact page. One of the two things listed was what social media the characters used, and my favorite was explaining why some characters (ie, some neopets) didn’t.

Some highlights:

Umi: Does not use social media and does not know how to use a computer

Fishi: Is an alien and therefore does not use social media (the exact same is written for Risco)

Lobo: Is a guardian angel and therefore does not use social media

Brise: Does not use social media (I would add "is a pirate," but so is Dowo and she's facebookin it up)

Sea: Is a mermaid and therefore does not use social media

I just noticed that I can never seem to make any characters break up without some kind of horrible reason.

Howo being ignored by her fiance for time totaling over a year and finally breaking up with him when she finds out he was cheating on her

Chip’s time-traveling girlfriend of over eight years breaks up with him before he proposes

Sea’s love (who never reciprocated) leaves her and is most likely dead but she still believes he will return

Frieda breaks up with her ex, Theo, after over a year of bearing insults and hostility from the girls that constantly hung around him

Veronica divorcing her husband, who didn’t even try to hide that he was cheating on her, and loses her job shortly after

In fact, the only OC I could consider having a non-terrible breakup is Gowo, though his girlfriend broke up with him because he was too focused on soccer. Then again that was when he was like 11 or 12 so it wasn’t a very heartfelt relationship to begin with

Sea really is such a tragic character. She knew from the moment Ancylo left that he was never going to see her again, but told herself he could potentially return to keep herself from succumbing to grief. However, as years passed, she got deeper in the delusion and isn’t quite sure that it’s an untruth. She should have moved on from the beginning /weeps

Not to mention that to further cement that Ancylo will not be returning is that his owner self-froze the side account he was on years ago.
