What is Erestor's sense of fashion like? How does he use clothes/appearances to help him in his work, both in SA and the TA? Does he have a preferred style and is it what he wears to work in?
Okay okay okay so this took a while for me to get to bc I wanted to be specific but didn’t have the time so here it is now !!!!
Erestor’s sense of style changes throughout the years. In the Y.T. as a member of one of the richest houses of Valinor Erestor was always dressed luxuriously. Sapphires were a signature of the House of Lúlë and so the family was always adorned in the gems. He was most often dressed in royal blue, silver, and white.
In the First Age as a scribe in Hithlum Erestor had something of a uniform; a blue tunic, simple leggings, and brown belt with his tools. It was something simple, warm, and easy to get around in.
In the second age as a member of Gil-Galad’s court, Erestor begins dressing in finer things again. It is befitting of his station, he missed it, and a prosperous peace had finally been won after many hard-fought years. Right? Most often he is seen in navy blue, black, and gold. He also had clothing for his work as spymaster; all black and concealed.
In the third age, Erestor runs out of fucks to give and dresses primarily in simple black robes. It's the simplest, easiest, most comfortable, and aligns most with his aesthetics by then. On the daily he really do be dressed like a Severus Snape mfer. The most pop of color you’d ever see from him would be brown or dark blue. aka the last pic below is a shocking amount of color from Erestor in the third age
