Linked Universe AU Directory 2nd Edition

After some thinking, I've decided to make a page on my blog for the current directory. @hero-of-the-wolf suggested that I break it up into multiple posts, but I feel like breaking up the modern and fusion sections is kind of awkward, so here we are.

Commentary:

Between May 2024 and May 2025 there was a ~300 works increase under #alternate universe, which brings us to a grand total of almost 900 works under that tag.

There are so many modern AUs and variations of the modern AU in general that I'm starting to wonder if I should just go ahead and start adding accordion menus for the major genres next time.

All the modern AU titles have also started to blur together in my mind, so every time I see a title with the word "home" in it, I have to wonder which modern AU it is... I think I need to take a break from reading modern AUs, guys.

There are also significantly more fusion AUs than I remembered. The ones that have doubles are for Lethal Company and Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Another 5 fusion AUs are Disney movies.

Similarly, there are still 5 fics that are categorized under "miscellaneous," two of which are also "unspecified" due to weird tags and genre blending. (They're all good reads, though!)

A lot of skilled writers have created wonderful AUs to share with the fandom, and I really hope that this continues to be the case. All the fics I've read have been fantastic, and I highly recommend taking a look just to see if there's anything that catches your eye. (And, of course, leaving kudos & comments if you find something you like!)
