"I don't often get the chance to talk to someone like y o u. Most of you bleeding-heart, team-earth types would already be trying to KILL ME -- not that they ever get very far.”
At some point fae had considered faerself close with the Vulture. A bit of a crutch, always dragging him into faer group as to not leave him on his lonesome; fae felt obligated, having known him since faer school days so long ago. He’d become scarce, closed-beak too, which was why a phone call late one Thursday evening had come as a surprise.
“I know we haven’t spoken in a while—but i could really use some help.”
He sounded distraught. Fae asked him what was wrong.
“My Gramps passed, ya’ remember him?”
Fae told him fae did. Fae couldn’t forget that old raptor. The raptor used to make fae and Vulture along with faer gaggle of friends barbecue every weekend when Vulture invited fae over. The old birds home was expansive and large, too large for one bird alone.
“A golden cage.” Had said Fiddo
It had made fae sad to hear that Vulture’s grandpa was estranged, the reason as to why was never stated.
Fae agreed to help Vulture, and the relief in his voice was palpable through the receiver.
“Thank fae. Fae don’t know how much this means to me.”
It’s Saturday now, fae both having agreed to meet on the hill railing overlooking the estate further down the hillside, it was a decent walk away from the main roadway, but fae never could grow tired of the cicadas calls and the tree canopy’s once descending downwards.
He leans again the railing, gaze downwards to the estate hidden by the tree’s. Fae can’t help but think he looks tired.
“I was half expecting fae not to show up.” He states breezily. Theres a prickle at his words on faer hide.
Fae tell him:
○ "Sorry for your loss."
● "Nice day out."
○ [Anger] "Of course fae showed up. Fae've missed you."
