The Three Rings of Buddhism

The three rings of the bell. The first ring signifies the Buddha. The Buddha is calling to you to turn your attention towards his teachings. The second ring signifies the dharma. The teachings themselves are asking you to concentrate your thought and relieve yourself of the constraints of this world. The third sustained ring of the bell is the Sangha. It is echoing the strength and oneness of what a collective teaching continues to shine approval upon and make true.

Patrick normally spends his days off inside, but today he thought he should try something different. How was he going to make any progress of putting himself out there if he didn’t…do just that. And so he made his way to a general store, just to pick up a pack of e-cigarettes. He didn’t smoke, but he found that people tended to start conversations when someone had a pack in their hands.

Not too long after he stepped outside with the pack did someone start to speak to him. It wasn’t until after they asked for a lighter than he realized he was without one. His brain knew that wasn’t even a thing, but the idea of someone messing with him made him feel worse. So, doing what he did best, he apologized profusely and started to run off, only to smack right into someone.

“I-I-I-I-I’m s-s-s-sorry….”
