Wait. a second.

"Dark Sanctuary" is a very normal-sounding tune, normal time signatures, etc. This fountain was created by the Knight, who, since they are apparently trying to make the prophecy happen, is likely very religious. The choir sings in the background. Enemies are all made of things you might find in some churches today: incense burners, hymnals, water coolers, bells (I think Guei's face is made of a jingle bell, anyway?). The philosophers of the 2nd Sanctuary revere these enemies as being mystical and peaceful.

"2nd Sanctuary" starts off sounding like some kind of alarm bell or something. The time signatures get a little weird (the intro is common time, I'm not musical enough to understand the rest, but I can tell it's a little different). The philosophers come to life. They are made of what appear to be much older items: pan pipes, those little drums you can hold in your hands, sacrificial knives, and I'm not sure what Wicabel is, but the "Wica" and the way the flavor text talks about cursing makes me think of witchcraft. So these aren't church items, but they are religious- very old religions, even pagan. The philosophers say everyone in this sanctuary are "brutes," and they question everything: "whose dream is this?", "why are we fighting?", etc.

Susie made the 2nd Sanctuary. Susie, the fighter with the axe instead of a sword (making her more of a brute), who knows nothing about either churches or music, and who questions EVERYTHING and accepts nothing at face value. The world was shaped according to the knowledge of its creator.

"3rd Sanctuary." Still has the alarms going off at the beginning. Time signatures are chaos, chaos. All enemies from both sanctuaries are available.

But wait! The 3rd Sanctuary was made from the first, right? And it was definitely also made by the Knight. So why does it share so many features of the 2nd, which was made by Susie?

Because Susie's fountain contaminated the Knight's fountain. Her will, her determination, touched the Knight's fountain and changed it.

Do you see what I'm saying?

It doesn't matter what the last prophecy is because SUSIE. Can CHANGE it. Susie can change the world, LITERALLY.

Small edit: I've been told the Guei are candles. I can sorta see it, but I'll just take y'all's word for it, as I can't make heads or tails outta their design.

theres also so multiple little true lab paralells in 3&4.

for example:

the knight and lemonbread w similar teeth attacks

also kiind of this titan attack but i wasnt sure if i should add it, i will just incase since it has a similar function

and of course endogeny and friend

and of course we already have all the connections with gaster to true lab which im sure you've seen analyzed hundreds of times

all this to say what if he adds some insane deltarune stuff to true lab. who knows what it will be. i am horrified

There is a lot I enjoyed about Chapter 4 of Deltarune, my most favourite chapter so far. I started preparing sketches for this art back in September. Love the atmosphere of the Sanctuaries so much and their cool Darkners, but the Light World church was also planned to be included there from the start.

Toriel is complimenting Noelle's singing, while Alvin is just busy with his usual work. And one of the awakened Mizzles is glad to see her still sleepy friend! As for that Organikk, uhh… probably mentioning the glowing voice again or something.

Ok I have a deltarune theory

So you know how in second sanctuary the old man statue broke the end of the prophecy? He threw a hammer at it. So I have a theory that ralsei out of fear enchanted the statue to stop them from seeing the end of the prophecy by any means. He did not expect it to try to kill them. More evidence is because ralsei didn't have any problem killing this one but he doesn't want to kill anyone else. What do you think?
