Resumed a bit of filming as we joined a small class at Operation Freedom Paws. So good to see our pals. Despite Covid-19, DOG WALK HOME is moving right along. One of my big passions is helping other helping professions with burnout and other things that can interfere with their work. Coping skills are a HUGE part of what keeps me from burnout and living the life I want to live! While I have a ton I love and use often, if I had to pick my top 5, here they are: ✨Essential oils and Aromatherapy: being able to have powerful and natural resources at my fingertips that can help with anything my emotions my throw at me is so empowering! I love to diffuse and wear EOs to help cope with my day to day! ✨Yoga and Meditation: each and every night I do yoga and often meditate after. It helps me relax both my body and my mind + it helps me stay connected to myself ✨Coloring and Design: this is where my creative side comes out! It is also a very mindful and grounding thing to do. Not to mention, it is focusing and centering to be able to color or design coloring pages ✨Coffee and Tea: I mean what’s better than a well made cup of coffee? Or a warm cup of herbal tea at the end of a long day? Not a whole lot! Enjoying a good cup of either is what I look forward to everyday! ✨Watching TV: when you do hard work as a helper, it can be very therapeutic to have a good laugh! This week my loving and empathic son came home and told me on one day an older kid at camp cut himself asking for help, a younger girl who has clearly experienced her own trauma hit him with a stuffed animal, and another little boy had an emotional breakdown. Even when we work to create the safest environments for our kids at home they will be exposed to other's trauma when they go out into the world. I'm grateful my son has the ability to feel it all and bring it home for us to process together. He is my greatest muse.
