I think it was Chris Penczak who mentioned using foxglove flowers in The Rite of The Poisoned Chalice, a kind of Baneful herb working in The Plant Spirit Familiar. In this case to confer second sight, especially seeing into the fairy realm. I love the idea of a baneful sacrament. We poison ourselves everyday, so why not in a way that is symbolic and spiritually profound. No you won’t get poisoned unless you eat a bunch of flowers. This symbolic act of drinking water from a floral vessel is a symbolic ritual action with some interesting applications. This willingness to consume what is deadly (even symbolically) is a powerful psychological cue that reverberates throughout the spirit realm. A year ago, I quit my job to pursue my passions full time. To be honest, self-doubt crept in at times and I wasn’t sure if I’d be able to survive.
