Friendly reminder!

These are honey bees! Note how they are fairly unfuzzy and sorta oval shaped and gorgeous.

...and they make this house:

Note that it is organized and looks like a nice little Parisian planned neighborhood or something.

These are bumble bees... you can tell because they’re hecking soft friends and so round and lovely.

Note that it looks like the home of a mad inventor or perhaps a charming English witch-- very cozy, but not so organized as our honeybee friends.

I mention this because before I was a beekeeper, I did not notice that a lot of artists seem to get honeybees and bumble bees confused, especially on Save the Bees fundraiser art. I particularly see a lot of art that puts bumblebees on honeycomb.

I think it’s good to know your animals, generally speaking, and it’s especially good to be able to tell those animals apart when they’re venomous and have different stimuli that “bug” them. Please, check yer bee art, and bee accurate!

When an email mentions bees but outlook is all “do you know these people? :/ idk they seem sketch so no photos for you” and you gotta be all “Dark Outlook, show me the Forbidden Bees”
