✨I Hope You Have a Lovely Seder Dinner!✨
As You're Getting Ready For Passover Tonight, Enjoy "Shiksa" Starring Leo Allen
As many Jewish families get ready to commemorate Passover tonight and several other people do their annual Googling of what Passover is as a refresher course, it would be a great time to watch this splendid short film from Matt Porter, Shiksa, starring the very funny Leo Allen.
A conversation.
This morning I chatted with my good friend dave for a while over gmail about this past holiday weekend. (Passover/Easter) just to give some background context I had talked to dave earlier last week and asked him if he had plans for Easter weekend. he said he was going to a seder dinner, (Passover dinner) with his friend Gab for the first time. Our conversation is as follows: me: Shalom,
How was your passover/Resurrection day?
Dave: hey!... shalom - I mean
it was good. a little odd at times but had a lot meaning too
me: haha, yeah.
me: it gives a much deeper understanding of it all though dosen't it?
Dave: yeah
I liked how things had layers of meaning
like the matzo was unleavened because of the haste that the Israelites left
but also, the yeast is a picture of sin
me: it is simple but beautiful.
Dave: they also did one thing where there were 3 pieces of matzo
stacked
and then middle one was broken
like a picture of God > Christ > Man
Christ was broken me: yeah I thought that was wonderful.. there is no traditional reason in Judaism for why they do that. it point's to jesus completely.
Dave: yeah he mentioned a few possible reasons
but I came up with that one myself
seemed kind of obvious me: yeah for Christians it is.. it's funny how much of Judaism WE as Christians don't understand about Judaism/GOD and vice vera. me: WE have much to learn from one another.
Dave: it's true

My First Seder Dinner
The Passover Sederis a Jewish ritual feast that marks the beginning of the Jewish holiday of Passover and involves retelling of the story of the liberation of the Israelites from slavery in ancient Egypt.
