Dating is not a specialty of his. It has never really been his top priority, and it is especially not his top priority considering his occupation. Even when he was a teenager, he saw it as a waste of time. At thirteen he was working as accountant for loan sharks and gambling operations, you think he had time for dating? For most of his life he has been involved in organized crime, so it is no surprise. Flings? To him it is absolutely disgusting. "Asexual" may not have been a term back then, so he would have been known as an "anaphrodite." Some doctors would have considered it a mental health condition. Although, he is not an emotionless man. He did fall for someone once in his life, but he never got to confess his feelings. Looking back on it, it was never that important to him anyway, especially since he was an adolescent.

    Mordecai has most likely met you due to his line of work. Possibly when he worked at Lackadaisy, or if you were a new recruit to the Marigold room. When he first saw you, he did not think much of you. If you are loud and vibrant, it would take longer for him to warm up to you. Other than that, he kept things professional. Honestly, he is difficult man to get close to. If you share some of his interests or traits, then you probably have a shot. If you share his love for symmetry, he would be taken aback. He is used to people not understanding the importance of order and how things should be handled properly. If you are more disorganized, then he is always going to be correcting your organization and giving you tips on how things should be handled.

    Let's say you do get close to him. If you the two of you become closer, it does not mean he will open up to you right away. Especially if you two are coworkers. He is a hit man who has been working in organized crime since he was a teenager, safe to say he is not taking any chances. Mordecai will probably be open about his interests once he gets comfortable. The both of you usually talk over some tea. He will introduce you to authors like Bertrand Russel.

    If you flirt with him, he will be confused. Like, if you used a pickup line, he will take it in a literal sense.

"No, I'm in fact not from Tennessee. What do you mean by I'm the only ten you see?"

Although, one way to flirt with him would be to compliment him or adjust his clothing. Just say his tie is crooked, or his suit has some dust. He would not mind too much if you needed to fix something, just do not get too touchy...

It takes him a while for him to actually be honest about his feelings towards you. He believes that the relationship between you two should be strictly professional. He will not say it out loud, but the reason why he does not want a relationship is not because he does not have feelings for you. It is due to the fact that you could end up getting hurt or in trouble because of his line of work. If anyone found out he was with you, someone will probably use it against him.

The few people that know about his feelings would be Nicodeme and Serafine. Those two tease him to no end. They think it would be best if he were up front about his feelings. Although, if he does not do it soon enough, one of them will tell you for him. Regardless of how you find out, he knows he has to be honest with you. It is distracting him from doing his job, so he needs to get it over with. When he is in a private setting with you, he finally spills his guts.

(I know the fandom portrays him as this nonchalant, quiet guy who is mysterious, but let's be honest, he is not the romantic type. This guy would be awkward af.)

"I asked you to come here because there is something important I need to address with you. I have grown an attraction towards you... I do not expect you to reciprocate my feelings, but I needed to tell you. You were becoming a distraction for me."

    If you reciprocate his feelings, he would be taken aback. It is unexpected for him, since he has never been one for romance. When it comes time for the date, he takes you to a tea house. The place is quiet and calm, which is a nice atmosphere for the both of you. The both you sipped tea while you talked about whatever. Discussing recent news, each other's interests... symmetry... Once the date was over, he dropped you off at your place. Do not expect a kiss from him, he is the least physically affectionate person you could be with. If you do kiss him, please have it be on the cheek, and make it quick. He will be left stunned, and before he could even give a lecture, you hurried inside. He will not admit it, but he likes it, just give him a warning next time.

    You cannot exactly call his past relationships "relationships." Since most of them were flings. The only person he has stayed close to after a fling is with Sy. I mean, they are literally band mates. Nothing blossomed between the two, but they talk sometimes. Same thing with Mitzi, they messed around, but they did become closer in a romantic sense. But that went downhill when Atlas showed up. Zib has had at least one or two serious relationships in the past. The reason why he does not actively date is because he has most likely had his heart broken in the past. The person probably cheated or lost feelings. Having relations with someone and no strings attached feels as if he is doing himself a favor. He just does not want to have another heartbreak.

Similar to Mitzi, he probably met you while touring the country, if not, he saw you while performing at Lackadaisy. Zib is a very blunt, direct man, he is never one for bullshit. Considering how direct he is, it is no surprise he begins flirting with you. He does not even try to hide it. If he notices you are shy or nervous, it will make him want to tease a little bit. But in all seriousness, he will tone down the flirting if you make it clear. He may or may not hint at jumping your bones by the end of the night. If you say yes, you will wake up in his bed, inside of his dingy apartment room. If you decline, he will not mind. He may be flirty and perverse at times, but sex is not that important to him.

    If you come by the speakeasy more often, he will always strike up a conversation, or at least speak to you in some way. The closer you two get, the more comfortable he is around you. He may even drop the artists' mystic... Zib will even tell you about his interests outside of music. If you are into religion and philosophy like he is, he is more likely to nerd out. Once he opens up, there is no stopping him...Safe to say you always have some playful, witty banter.

    After a while, you think he would officially ask you out or at least put a title to your relationship. But he does not... Zib may be a blunt man, but he acts a bit funny when it comes to relationships. Like said before: He has had his heart broken in the past and he is used to flings. It is not like he does not care about you, he just has a fear of messing up. So you are most likely going to end up in a situationship. It will take him some time to figure out where to go from there.

    Zib will eventually gain the courage to actually address his feelings.

"Look, sweetheart, I know we have not made anything official for us. I'm sorry for making you wait so long, it shouldn't have to be that way. I know I'm used to the whole sleeping around with no strings attached thing, but I want something different this time. You deserve more than just a roll in the hay..."

    After having a long talk, the both of you officially go out on a date. The man works as a starving musician, do not expect a lot from him... With the money he has saved up, he will take you out to a decent, Italian restaurant. He will not exactly dress up, but will put more effort into his attire than he usually does. This date is a good thing for him, considering he hardly goes out to treat himself or another person to a good time. It is probably the first real good meal he has had in a while. The both of you eat dinner while talking and enjoying each other's company.

    When dinner is over, the two of you take a walk down the sidewalk. You both talked about whatever was on your mind. He probably went on one of philosophical talks. But after a while of talking, you two fell into a comfortable silence. You later arrive at your place. The both of you say your goodbyes, before you could go inside he says one more thing.

"Gonna say goodbye and leave me here like this? Not even a goodnight kiss?"

    His voice was filled with flirtation and teasing. He does not expect you to kiss him if you do not want to. Although, if you do give into him, things may become hot and heavy. Who knows? He could end up in your bed by the end of the night, or not. That is all for you to decide...

Wick has had some experience in the dating scene. He was never one for flings, he wanted something genuine. Although, he has not been too lucky. The first relationship(if you could even call it that) he had was most likely with a woman he was arranged to be with by his family. At the time, he thought he would grow to love her and possibly start a family. Come to find out, her family was using him for his money while the woman had another man on the side. Thank goodness she was only his fiancé. He would later call the marriage off.

After that incident, he never let his family arrange any marriages ever again, and he did not allow them to be involved in his romantic life. He wanted to be with someone that has genuine feelings for him, nothing transactional. He has come across a few gold diggers in his life. Some of them will show tons of interest in what he has to say just to get into his pockets.

"Oh so you're into rocks? That's... interesting..."

"You don't sound too enthusiastic about it."

"No no no, trust me I am! If I may ask, how much do you make per year?

"...what does that have to do with anything?"

    Wick can practically see right through them. He will respectfully decline if they get too comfortable. Aside from all that, he would later on meet you. If you are in a similar line of work as him, then you get to know each other that way. If not, you met at Lackadaisy.

Regardless of where you met him, you certainly caught his eye. Whether that's looks or personality, it does not matter. He is willing to get to know you more. When the two of you started talking, he listened to everything. It did not matter how odd the topic was, Wick was always taught as a young boy to pay attention to when another person is speaking. If you both share a love for alcohol, safe to say he is showing you his stash.

He is a bit hesitant when it comes to talking about his interests. The man likes to talk about bugs and rocks, so give him some slack. The more you talk, the more he gets comfortable. Wick will drop a few facts here and there, but you know he is really comfortable with when he goes on a whole lecture. Even if you do not share the same interests, you always listen to each other.

Wick will even go as far as to send gifts. They will not be too big, since he does not want to come off as too strong. Little small gestures like jewelry, perfume/cologne, flowers, ect. Usually he will mail it to you. He thinks it is good way to start your morning or end the day. If you get him something, he will be quite flattered. He would get very excited though if you gave him something related to his interests.

After a bit of flirting and romantic gestures, he gains the courage to ask you out.

"We have been seeing each other for quite some time, you know? You are irresistible inside and out... you are truly captivating, and I mean that from the bottom of my heart. If it is alright with you, I would like to have the opportunity to take you out, ma'am/sir."

    When his confession is done, the both of you set a date for the two of you to meet up. Wick had the whole day planned out. He took you on a boat ride in the late morning. After the boat ride, he took you to a luncheon. The place was upscale compared to other place. To finish off the day, he took you to see a show. Not the picture show on the silver screen, an entire live performance. If you are into musical theater, then this is right up your alley.

    The sky transitioned from light to dark, signaling the day was coming to a close. Wick felt even closer to you because of this date, and it was a shame time flew by so quickly. He drove you home and walked you to your doorstep. He was never one for kissing after a date, since he thinks it's improper. But if you go for it, he certainly will not complain. As he drives home, he has a soft smile on his face. He is thinking of all the other ways he can spoil you.
