Merlins being sassy and arthur was enjoying it until merlins sassy remarks were starting to be directed towards him. Arthur starts to get a little worked up when he realizes that he actually enjoys when Merlin is a sassy shit.
This is how I thought a certain scene would go. (Not a writer btw)
“Merlin” Arthur said loudly to get the smaller mans attention. Merlins head shot up as he looked over his shoulder at the king, who looked good as ever, with that stupid sexy smirk on his face. Merlin had to resist the urge to roll his eyes when his gaze landed on the other man.
“What are you doing?” The king drawled out, confused as to why Merlin was on the floor fiddling with a chair. He watched as a annoyed look crossed Merlins face with the question.
“Well, what does it look like I’m doing? Preparing you a feast?” He said actually rolling his eyes this time and setting his attention back on the chair leg he’s trying to put back into place. Mumbling under his breath something about how daft Arthur could be sometimes.
Arthur chuckled at Merlins sassy remark, but his eyes never left the smaller man. Merlins eyebrows were frowned, his mouth closed tightly. Arthur couldn’t help but watch him, he was always fascinated with how concentrated his manservant could be.
Never admittedly, but always fond of his face when trying to complete a task, but he especially loved the mans look of pride when it’s accomplished.
“Don’t be smart Merlin” the king said with a fond look on his face. “Nobody likes a wiseass”
He observed as merlin finally wiggled the char leg into place, admiring the smirk of pride Merlin had for completing his task. His eyes followed Merlin and he stood up off the ground and dusted off his pants. Then all the sudden Merlins smirk was directed at him, as he replied to Arthur’s comment.
“Well I guess that explains why everyone finds you irritating then” he said stepping closer to Arthur. Arthur had a slightly stunned expression on his face, as he looked the worlock up and down. Merlin watches as the kings mouth opens and closes twice before he forms the words,
Arthur replied in a slight shock. He is not irritating, he is the king of camelo-
His thought got ripped away almost as quickly as it came when he saw a seductive smirk creep its way on to Merlins face.
