Books Read in November 2019
This month I read some pretty great books. My favorite had to have been Northanger Abbey, though. Here’s the list:
“I”d rather Be Reading: The Delights and Dilemma’s of the Reading Life” by Anne Bogel
“Seedfolks” by Paul Fleischman
“Runes of the North” by Sigurd F. Olson
“The Sleeper and the Spindle” by Neil Gaiman
“No One is Too Small to Make a Difference” by Greta Thunberg
“Tales From Watership Down” by Richard Adams
“Northanger Abbey” by Jane Austen
“There's plenty about my life I can't change. Can't bring the dead back to life on this earth. Can't make the world loving and kind. Can't change myself into a millionaire. But a patch of ground in this trashy lot -- I can change that. Can change it big. Better to put my time into that than moaning about the other all day.”

Seedfolks: By Paul Fleischman
A Vietnamese girl plants six lima beans in a Cleveland vacant lot.
Looking down on the immigrant-filled neighborhood, a Romanian woman watches suspiciously.
A school janitor gets involved, then a Guatemalan family.
Then muscle-bound Curtis, trying to win back Lateesha.
Pregnant Maricela.
Amir from India. A sense of community sprouts and spreads.

A children's book
Seedfolks // Paul Fleischman
This book is one of those things that work for people of all ages. It's about the formation of a community garden in a poor neighborhood over the course of a year. Every chapter is from the POV of a different member of the community, and it all blends together and it's all really lovely. (screenshot from goodreads, library book, do not own)
