Human beings are primal, instinctual animals driven by a roller coaster of emotions. They’re difficult to describe, let alone understand. Our culture likes to tell us that emotions make us weak, and we need to “toughen up” and “get over it”. American psychologist Carl Rogers took a 5 step approach to handling the wild creature inside of us through active listening, empathy, trust, influence, and thus change. We cannot control our emotions anymore than we can control a small child. Rather, we must work with, negotiate, and listen to what our bodies telling us. A common them you will find with every great leader, is that they understand and accept themselves fully. I thank all of you reading this for being patient as I have taken the time to organize my blog, and make it easier to navigate. I would also like to thank a few select people sending me photos to use, reaching out to me, and helping me become a better person every day. @juannnn_29 @seasonfreshh @ktxoxo @rob_dominate I would also like to thank 70+ people I reached out to today for opinions on shirt ideas. You can find my most recent post in the link in my bio, as well as shirts, sweaters, mugs, and stickers under the “merchandise” tab on my blog home page. Thank you everyone for following this journey, as well as sharing yours.
