Providing late season interest in the prairie-style, seed raised Sky Meadow at the Royal Horticultural Society Garden Hyde Hall, Essex, UK, is Symphyotrichum turbinellum (prairie aster, turbinate aster). This herbaceous plant is a native to dry prairies, open woods, upland glades and ridges in the USA. The flowers are attractive to pollinators.
