The other day I was blessed with this beautiful discovery, Pua ‘olena (Turmeric flower) and today I was blessed with this other beautiful discovery! I’ve never seen one of these before. One of the things I like most about the #seekapp is the wealth of interesting plant names it offers. This soapwort popped up in my garden in the spring, but I wasn’t sure what it was—flower or weed—so I left it to see what it turned out to be. Now it has bloomed, and Seek tells me that it’s a member of the carnation family, also known as bouncing-bet, crow soap, wild sweet William, and soapweed.
