Character Appreciation Post (OOC)

D’ana is a character I made in Fall of 2014.

I had a character before I fantasia’d and name changed to D’ana, and some not-very-good people made fun of her name and looks a lot and made me feel insecure and invalid both in my own skin, and in ffxiv in general. 

I bought a name change, acquired a fantasia potion, and went into character creation. When I picked all the options that filled me with the most joy, D’ana Sitka was the result. 

I named this new Seeker of the Sun Miqo’te “D’ana Sitka”:

D - Denahi (Character from Disney’s “Brother Bear”)

Ana - (From Disney’s “Frozen”)

Sitka - (Another character from Disney’s Brother Bear)

Those characters and movies (both now and at the time) gave me such joy and happiness, I fell naturally into step when looking up the Mi’qote naming system on a ffxiv website, and putting this name of hers together. 

I had her look, I had her name.

I created her simple backstory, she didn't need to be born from chaos, confusion, and blackness, like my other character. She came from a loving family that grew bigger when she was born.

When I see her, I see strength, beauty, confidence. She is the best character I have ever made, from either ffxiv, or my short stories and book attempts I have written on my own. She has helped me become a better, stronger, confident player. When I am online as her, I feel like I can accomplish anything. 

I don’t particularly know why I wanted to share this story. I felt like writing something about her, and I didn’t want to let myself think about it first, overthink, and end up not posting anything after all.

Han Byul (한별) is well known of her taste for the glamour life. Even changes her Race to befit the roles of certain Cosplays. She never tires from the change in her outspoken lifestyle.
