ਪਰ ਪੜ੍ਹ ਪੜ੍ਹ ਪੁਸਤਕ ਢੇਰ ਕੁੜੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਵਧਦਾ ਜਾਏ ਹਨੇਰ ਕੁੜੇ । ਕੁਝ ਅਜਬ ਇਲਮ ਇਲਮ ਦੀਆਂ ਜਿੱਦਾਂ ਨੇ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਿਆ ਕਿਉਂ, ਕੀ, ਕਿੱਦਾਂ ਨੇ । ਮੈਂ ਨਿਸਚੇ ਬਾਝੋਂ ਭਟਕ ਰਿਹਾ, ਜੰਨਤ ਦੋਜ਼ਖ ਵਿਚ ਲਟਕ ਰਿਹਾ । ਗੱਲ ਸੁਣ ਜਾ ਭਟਕੇ ਰਾਹੀ ਦੀ । ਇਕ ਚਿਣਗ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ।

For our third series medley in a row (fourth if you count 'Te Inveniam' as a Tourian medley) is 'Seeking Light', arranged and performed by Martin Leung. This medley combines a few classic tunes from the first game and Super Metroid into a mostly gentle piano piece, though Kraid's Lair and Lower Norfair get heavier in parts as the song goes on.

The arrangement on these songs is pretty simple, and it works very well. The songs and the way they are arranged is nostalgic and sad because of how sparse the arrangement is. The ordering of the songs gets deeper into the planet as the song goes - the Title plays on the surface, Brinstar is the first area below, Kraid's lair and Lower Brinstar are the lowest levels of those caves, and Lower Norfair is the molten rock beneath all that. It tells a beautiful, sad story about descending into an alien world, never to return.

Artist's Statement for the piece:

'Recently, with some of my more personal work, I've been exploring the concept of painting energy, which is difficult to see but rather easier to be felt.

Through the playful and experimental use of colour and brushwork, this painting started out abstract in hope to emit a radiance of positive energy.

Coincidentally, for my own life-interest, I've been researching the Native American ways of being and I was struck by the enlightened sensation conveyed in the eyes and pronounced facial features of such a people. Being an enthusiast of portraiture, I decided the effect communicated through combining the abstract background with an expressive face in the foreground would compliment and further enhance each other in a visual amalgamation.

The question is, how does it make you feel?'
