I feel like the GMW fics are probably my most realistic teenage emotion fics.

Still doing the [] formatting here. I loved that idea, and still do like fics with it, but have found current fics [] lack the skillset needed for those []. To be direct, I don't think 22 year old me also had that skillset.

I really like the second chance romance theme with Lucas and Maya, the idea that they don't get it right in high school, but they grow up (separately) enough that they become good people for each other.

wine stains and bleach Canon Compliant | Complete | Lucas x Maya, Riley x Lucas She balls her fists, and remembers the near miss of a kiss he gave her. Almost, so close that it could almost be enough. Almost, like it counts. But it's not enough-and it would never count.

2025 Notes: I like it. Nothing more to say. Also it's forgettable as a fic.

epic romance Canon Compliant -Future | Complete | Lucas x Maya No one cares about what happens from ages twenty-three to twenty-eight. They grow up, stopping fucking around and give up. Not everyone is an epic love story. It had to happen right?

2025 Notes: This is fine. Fits the theme of Maya and Lucas growing up and finding each other again.

She spots the woman eyeing her seat. Peko sighs, and stands up whenthe woman begins to approach, but Fuyuhiko kicks up his leg againstthe partition, blocking the way before the woman can squeeze through.

“Seat’s taken,” he grunts.

The woman throws him a confused look. “By who?”

“By me.” He glares up at her, as if daring her to argue. Hedoesn’t move his leg out of the way. “You hard of hearing? I saidit’s taken. Find another seat, lady.”

Eventually the woman relents, begrudgingly, and finds a seat closerto the back of the bus, muttering something about disrespectfulyouth. Peko silently watches the whole exchange.

“Sit back down,” Fuyuhiko mutters under his breath, low enough soonly she can hear.

She does.

metamorfoza Pre KOS | Complete | Nikolai x Zoya, David x Genya The soldier above all others prays for peace, for it is the soldier who must suffer and bear the deepest wounds and scars of war. {how do you grow up in the war?}

I wrote this before King of Scars came out, so unfortunately canon ruins it but I am very proud of this one. This was way back when Nikolai and Zoya was considered a crack ship

2025 Notes: 2017. This is clearly closer to my original style writing in themes and skill level (fic I always did without a lot of thought.)

This was written pre KOS so, honestly I am very proud of the plot line. I would not have thought Zoya would go through Anime training and become a FUCKING DRAGON but y'know. LB has a lot of good ideas but she went off the deep end there.

I also strongly fixed the timeline because LB clearly didn't give a shit about history or politics when she was doing things. I think in canon they're all like sub 25 in KOS which makes no sense.

You can tell I really like in fic, non chronological timelines. I think it's fun, and can make things hit harder.

I do like the idea that David takes parem over dying. But whatever. Death needs meaning, and I think Genya (which honestly being spelt like this fucks me over because my loml's best friend's wife is name Zhenya pronounced the same and I kept on spelling it her way), would have been a poor death to cement the gravity of the situation in KOS. But I think it would have been a better storyline that David loses his mind after creating weapons as a penance.

Nikolai's backstory is the most boring out of the ones I wrote.

There is such a good parallel to Nina's ego and Zoya's ego that doesn't make sense if Zoya is ~3 years older than Nina. Like seriously doesn't make sense at all.

David's backstory in this is actually my favourite. I think it's such an interesting idea of being locked away, very Boo Radley there.

ALSO I HAD ZOYA HAVING SCARS ON HER BACK BECAUSE OF ELECTRICTY NOT TIGER ATTACK BUT LIKE I CALLED THAT. It was legit only logical that she would have scars from power.

There was such good ways to play with Zoya eavsedropping that never actually happened in canon. Which sucks.

Zoya not liking tight clothes is totally an allusion to Fruits Basket and Kyo not liking tight clothes.

Genya hearing "it's not baby fat when you're ten", is legit something someone said to me, expect add twelve and that set me off on my ED that lasted a decade.

I like the idea of David setting Genya into the concept of poisons.

Listen, this is still a good fic. I stand by it.

2025 Notes: 2019 This is the last thing I wrote before abandoning everything, I think this was written probably within the week of KOS release.

I loved the multi-media trend that was around back then, but have no photoshop skills. So this was the closest I got to it.

Epistolary stories are very easy to write, but also very limiting. I also don't think I do it really well, but I try.

The demon = drug addiction is really a lazy writing stretch here. I could do much better.

All in all, meh.

Twenty Something AU| Modern University | Finnick x Annie, Katniss x Peeta, Gale xJoanna |6/48 ABANDONED Your twenties are your selfish years, the years you find yourself. The years you move in with the man of your dreams but only as roommates. The years you work as a barista because you want to paint. The years you wonder if you should have said yes. The years when you fall in love with the girl who doesn't want you back. The years you pretend you actually like wine. The years you let you go. These are the years that build you.

Trying to write a realistic view of being in your twenties and grounding a love story. Final year of uni killed me and this was the fic that made me decide not to post any multi chapters until it's done.

2025 Notes: I hate uni AUs where clearly no one has actually been to grad school etc or deals in realism. This was my attempt and I have no clue why I abandoned it besides fourth year.

It's a very ambitious idea, and there is sparks of a good plot there. I wish I finished it.

2025 Notes: I didn't want to do a sequel. I just did because that was what people expected and it's...I don't even remember having plans for this.

2025 Notes: I didn't even watch DWTS at that time. It's fine. I don't think I'm embarrassed about it.

Rip Current Canon Compliant| Complete| Annie Cresta centric | 7/7 rip current n. A strong, narrow surface current that flows rapidly away from the shore, returning the water carried landward by waves. Welcome to the 70th Hunger Games.

I love this. The execution could be better, and I'd almost re-write it, if I hadn't abandoned. Annie Cresta is my favourite. I wrote this to showcase three things: 1 no where in canon does it say that Finnick was Annie's mentor, 2 Annie is a career, and should be treated like one. 3. There is no way a flooded arena is an accident.

2025 Notes: I do honestly consider this to be my magnum opus of fics. I set out to get my point across and 19K later I did.

Like said before, would do something better but seriously. I just love this one so much. This, out of any of them I would read.

too much, too fast, melancholy darling AU| Modern Settings | Finnick x Annie| First Person| 1/4 ABANDONED I feel like Jo is the soundtrack to my life, out of tune and on the wrong beat. Or how Annie insults Finnick Odair and makes him fall in love with, all while trying to figure out what the hell is going on with Jo.

Pyrite Boy AU| Modern Settings | Complete | Finnick x Annie Finnick Odair has a plan to be The Golden Boy. (Annie Cresta knows this isn't right, but she can pretend this is a fairy tale.)

I wrote this for a friend many years ago. It's one of my proudest THG works (in fact I think it is my second favourite after Rip Current), as a Finnick AU introspective

2025 Notes: This feels very out of character, but also in character at the same time. I love the idea, the execution is good for where I was at the time.

I think it would shine if I dev'ed it out to be a lit novel by itself.

2025 Notes: I like it. It's sweet and short and builds into the idea that Finnick and Annie heal together from the games, with also dealing the probable co-dependancy they have. Also apparently a coda to Rip Current.

A Crown of Roses AU| Historical Game of Thrones | Finnick x Annie | 3/ 25 ABANDONED A revolution is not a bed of roses. (I never wanted to be king, but oh-oh, can you hear the people sing?)

2025 Notes: This is good for how little there is. I have to assume when my laptop died, I lost all my notes. I wish I knew where I was going.

indecent objection AU| Modern | Complete | Finnick x Annie | First Person See, I didn't get just friendzoned, oh no. I got Hermione Granger-ed. I got "you're like my sister" which is why being best friends with Finnick Odair is just a bad idea. Or Annie Cresta writes romance novels but doesn't realize a love story until she's in a foreign country and she doesn't know what language they speak.

2025 Notes: First person. There's spots of good here, but not really enough. People didn't get my point so clearly failed.

Point being Annie thinks of herself as Hermione Granger to Finnick's Harry Potter--his best friend, but more like a sister instead of a love interest. Clearly failed.

This is a dark take on the 70th Games that @humanoidtyphoons wanted. I really like this one. A canon introspective of Finnick during this games.

2025 Notes: No notes. I like this, execution is good. Really leaned into the idea of the PTSD Finnick would have after five years of being sold. Also the deconstruction of Finnick as Annie's mentor.

Like this is such a good fic from me. And it's second person. Insane

delayed beats AU| Influencers | Complete | Finnick x Annie, Katniss x Peeta | Epistolary It starts when Finnick accidentally sexts the wrong girl. (Actually it starts four years before.) Peeta's girlfriend won't answer his calls. (It wouldn't actually matter except he thinks she ran away.) The real question is how is Gale the one with his shit together?

2025 Notes: Concept strong, execution weak. I really was trying to lean into the multimedia aspect of fics that existed then with no photoshop skill.

(Sometimes the things you leave behind don't stay left behind) I loved this one a lot because my entire social life was ultimate frisbee and I wanted to bring that into fic.

I shameless stole a friend's backstory for Annie. Literally lifted it, except her mom died when we were in uni. Tails is also the nickname I gave a girl on the team because she could fucking run.

Wrote for @humanoidtyphoons. I think it was fun. Also literally no one commented on it. I assume I have more Bleach fics but because no one commented on them, they're lost. But I do remember this one.

2025 Notes: I love this concept. Execution is not the worse, probably could have revisited to build out the concept into something longer. I still believe the father is the bad guy in the Icarus myth.

The Ohio Legacy AU| Party High School AU| Hitsugaya x Karin, Hitsugaya x Momo, Karin x Chad It's a cocktail of bitterness, infidelity, detachment and makeouts. It's one helluva a year. Ohio With each bounce, reality becomes harder to grasp 1-2-3 This year is going to be legendary, isn't it? 2025 Notes: Published in A03 in 2012, but wrote on ff.net originally so probably circa 2007-2008? This was very much the era of little baby Ria playing beer pong in high school, with real life bleeding in with my school (private school) and the Catholic school as rivals.

Sidenote I haven't played beer pong in over a decade. I feel like flip cup was more of my game in uni.

This was also written in my sparse description phase, probably influenced by some lit I had to read in school. There's so much lacking in the entire thing.

I also think the idea was 52 one shots to make one full year revolving around parties and drinking. I should be clear that was not my reality then.

I am curious about why I was doing a Karin x Chad side plot, also how I managed the age gap because why is Ichigo going to the same parties as Karin and Yuzu when I establish the twins at 16?

Also a Rave? Baby Ria-hell adult Ria has never been to a rave. You can tell where I was romantasizing the idea of making out with someone you're attracted to drunk and it being okay to cheat on your partner.

Yuzu was totally based on a girl I was friends with. She was very innocent/childish at the time. I remember teaching her how to use tampons when we were 22

I still stan Gin x Matsumoto. I always will.

Ah, the 2000s when weed could be laced with E instead of other things.

Overall thoughts: there's an idea, an interesting one from 14-15 year old me. But not worth revisiting with better skill.

Wonder Tale AU | Historical Fantasy | Hitsugaya x Karin | 3/10 | ABANDONED In which there is marriage, a not marriage, mountain goats, feuding nations, those who cannot hold their liquor, passive aggressive courtship and perhaps some dragons.

2025 Notes: I have to assume DWJ was an influence in the chapter names.

There's such a satire aspect of this entire thing. I do love the idea of Hitsugaya being Karin's knight.

This was also written in 2012, which I believe makes it an A03 original because my cat who is still alive is named in this.

I actually don't know if I was still reading Bleach at this point, but I guess The Thousand Year War was going on and I said Hitsugaya would die for Karin? Weird.

UK note about the Kuchikis going to the UK for a handfasting? Birdie's nickname getting referenced there.

What the fuck did I write about Yuzu and Ishida? How did I think that was good? Did I think that was good?

2. Is there any specific ritual you go through while/before/after your writing?

I don’t think so? I have patterns to my writing, but nothing I would consider ritualistic. Sometimes I have Spotify running and sometimes I don’t. I think the closest thing I have to a “ritual” is Googling very specific questions. One I can remember off the top of my head from recent memory is Googling how long a stab wound to the back would take to heal. Oh, also traditional Japanese wedding ceremonies and vows.

That’s easy. ‘Cuz I’m a storyteller!

9. Do you ever have plans to write anything other than fic? 

I DO in fact!!!!!

I have an original story currently in the works!! Some of my mutuals have probably heard me talking about it. It’s a really ambitious project that both frightens and excites me but I want it to happen for sure within my lifetime!

It’s a little slow-going atm because I’ve been so focused on work, freelance, and fics, and since it’s an original work, it’s hard to find somebody to bounce ideas off of, but I love the story, and I hope I can find the time to make some headway on it soon. Or maybe post some practice stuff.

Okay so today I had an open house for my MA. Andddddd I already realized that in the class of 27, I will be the loudest and I already made an enemy(?) Picture me, with my pearls and my Anne Klein Trench and my MK bag and my Louie booties. Picture her, leggings and black clothes and a choker and dyed hair. I legit don't know anything about her. BUT when I was asking my qs, about parking lots, books, hours per week etc she was rolling her eyes and tsking & making comments to her parents..

I don’t get the deal with hating on people who ask questions tho??? Like, I understand if they’re not paying attention and keep asking a question that’s been answered five times, but otherwise why? Just leave if you’re running late or w/e. Also it’s an OPEN HOUSE. That’s the point of an open house!!!
