if only I were a birding dog…
👆 A common wish of the Hellhound.
I got tired of redoing this, so have it as it is.

I seriously need to make a finalized official design for Seganvel, and humanoid forms for both her and Aharceot (the roadblock to the latter is that I still have no idea what sort of clothes they should be wearing).
I've drawn a couple of pictures of Seganvel's present all-bird design (no dromeosaur traits like she had in some older art), but they turned out too falcon-y. I want to base her design on bat hawks and ospreys.
This isn't super important given that these are book characters, not comic or animation, but it matters to me!
Worldbuilding fact of the day: Aharyy granted Aharceot and Seganvel the ability to be unbothered by the Sun's light, up to and including being immune to damage from staring at the Sun, when he made them his emissaries.
The Hands of the Sun on Earth 🐕🌞🦅
A symbolic picture of Aharyy, the God of the Harenocan Sun, with his two demigod emissaries: Aharceot, the Sunhound, and Seganvel, the Heavenhawk.
[Image description: A digital art piece showing two animal-like entities facing each other underneath a stylized yellow-white sun. The sun has a serpent / dragon-like figure curled inside it, with six pairs of long thin spikes protruding from his head to match the twelve rays of the sun. The creature on the left resembles a mostly hairless borzoi with blue eyes, prick ears, and a bright yellow mane and tail brush. She is laying down with her front legs stretched out and tail curled around. The creature on the right resembles a black-and-white hawk with yellow eyes, and is standing with her wings folded. End ID.]
[Image description: An edit of the "Presidential Alert: The girls are fightingggg" meme. "Presidential" is replaced with "Divine", and next to the text are busts of two entities. The one on the left resembles a mostly hairless borzoi with a bright yellow mane, blue eyes, and magenta teeth and ear insides. She is grinning open-mouthed with malicious glee in her eyes. The one on the right is hawk/eagle-like with black and white feathers and yellow eyes. She looks very sternly at the dog-creature with the feathers on the top of her head raised threateningly. End ID.]
A brief summary of the Sunhound (new name of the Hellhound) and Heavenhawk's relationship. The Heavenhawk may or may not mildly regret her choice to accept demigodhood.
Hellhound and Heavenhawk notebook doodles. These drawings are tiny!
[Pasted image description: Two pen doodles on lined paper. On the top is a bust of a borzoi-like creature with a mane of hair, looking at the viewer with a cruel grin. On the bottom is a bust of a hawk-like creature, looking ahead with a determined smile. Both are very small: most of the top drawing fits between two lines, and most of the bottom drawing between three. End ID.]
Sketch of the Heavenhawk / Divine Raptor, the Hellhound’s more merciful counterpart. Like her, she’s a demigoddess and basically an errand girl for the gods. She also has a humanoid form, and is actually in it most of the time (I should really draw their humanoid forms as soon as I can work out some outfits).
Her flight is divinely-powered / magical in nature, though it still requires wingbeats to activate. Once she’s in the air, she can coast and dive at very high speeds, and generally move with more agility than would normally be possible for a creature her size. (Speaking of which, she’s about 7 feet tall in the posture shown.)

[Image description: A pen and pencil-crayon sketch of the Heavenhawk, a birdlike demigoddess. She resembles a hawk or eagle, but with longer legs, a long tail (like a dinosaur), and nostrils near the tip of her beak. Her feathers are black with white on the face, front of the neck, chest, and longer tail feathers, her eyes are yellow, and her beak is yellow with black at the tip. The fronts of her legs are covered in yellow scales, with the rest being bare light skin. Above her is a small drawing of her in flight: she holds her legs stretched behind her like a crane or a flamingo. End ID.]
Ready for Takeoff
A scene from The Mysteries of the Apricot Sun. After saving Darby from a malicious being, the demigoddess known as the Heavenhawk decides to take her home… in her own way.
