@angelocannons and any other Rinoa/Squall/Seifer who hasn’t seen this already--
Anyone else notice there’s an oddly cut off dialogue box in this scene? I always tried to see if it said anything when it flashed up and vanished on the PS1 version, but I assumed it was just a mistake that had been left in. This guy’s used Deling to mod the cut dialogue back in, they’re talking about Seifer.
All in the past my ass, RInoa, hOW DARE YOU--
A good friendship is something rare and special. You are quite selective about the friends you make because you believe it is better to have one really good friend than lots of acquaintances. You feel you need to respect someone before you can become friends with them. If you respect them, you automatically want to get to know them better, find out what's important to them and what makes them tick. Once you become friends with someone, it is usually a close friendship, however long it lasts. At the same time, you don't like to stifle the friendship by placing too many constraints on it. On the contrary, distance and time spent away from friends doesn't change how you feel about them. If anything, it reinforces your desire to see them again and means you look forward to their company even more. You are quite proud and this makes it difficult to be open about personal problems. You would rather confide in one good friend than tell the whole world about it. As far as you are concerned, it is perfectly possible for two people to be good friends and yet also follow their own separate paths in life.
You are part of a clique
Friendships are what make life so enjoyable. The friends you've got are often people you have known for a long time, who have stuck with you through thick and thin. You form a loyal little gang who protect each other and care for each other. You can be frank with each other and you know how to pull together during difficult times. Your friends keep you grounded and you're never bored when they’re around. They are affectionate and fun and there is a positive energy in the air when you spend time together. You all understand that it's the quality of the time you spend together, not the quantity, that counts. You enjoy meeting up and look forward to it when the occasion arises. You prepare for it in an almost ritualistic manner, each member of the group with their own important role. You gel together well because of mutual respect for your loyal, warm ‘second family’. Friendship is precious to you and is a vital part of your journey through life. You know that it is something to be shared, and that you must cultivate your friendships with love.
“I’m just saying, you keep that shit up, you might explode. Death by emotional constipation.”
They’re drinking. They’re always drinking, especially lately-- Seifer doesn’t know if it makes the appeal of what inevitably happens later any better, but it certainly doesn’t hurt.
Their glasses are too empty. He picks up the bottle in the center of the table, pouring generous servings into each, and sets it back down significantly lighter.
“It’s like it would kill you to acknowledge that you feel anything at all-- you keep coming back here. You’re clearly feeling something.”
“What? What?” He scrambles awake, immediately alert and whipping his head around, looking for the obviously imminent danger. There isn’t any, at least not that he can see, and he finally turns his attention toward her.
Seifer ran his hand over the spot, bowing his teeth to nip at Shane’s shoulder. “Sorry,” he murmured. Force of habit, hard to break, but he was trying, trying. He’d come, after all, from a world of brutality, violence, every action with a knife-sharp edge of pain to it, backed by the sadistic grin of people who liked it.
It was difficult to move on from that, and he was certain he’d never shake it from his bones— one didn’t tame a wolf, after all, something still lingering feral in his sea-green eyes.
