“i was hurt.” everyone was hangs at the edge of robin’s lips. i can’t say that out loud. i spill the words into a white-knuckled fist and keep them there. the question was for him. not the team. there’s discomfort, coiling angrily in his gut. an unwelcome memory. nausea washes over him. 

“i joined slade and betrayed the team. took a long time to get their trust back.” his shoulders are heavy. with sorrow and guilt and something else that leaves a sour taste in his mouth. “when i found out you were slade’s apprentice, i knew how it felt. to be betrayed by someone you care about.”
