O, Sekhmet-Mwt, The Mighty Eye of Ra and Lady of Ma’at,

Crowned Mistress of the Isheru Lake, who resides in Waset.

Point of confusion:

I’ve always assumed it was Sekhmet-Mut poking me. It definitely feels like a lioness, I definitely get good pings when I see statues of lioness deities, although the best statue for pings was a seated one with a sun disk and double plumed crown.

But the sensations I get from her don’t seem to be in line with Sekhmet-Mut so much as with Bast-Mut. I don’t get the fire, strictness, regality, and ferocity that some people seem to. More what I seem to get is a much more gentle warmth, protection, a sense of motherhood (royal motherhood perhaps but where you are included so it doesn’t feel imposing).

Seeing that Bast-Mut can be a lioness, I’m inclined to think I’ve got my lions mixed up.

What do people find Bast-Mut tends to go for statuary wise? I’ve been finding her in lions, and seeing Bast in traditional cat images, but I don’t know if the sun disk on the lions I have is a great idea.
