@selahbela replied to your post “Moving to a new post so I don’t upset OP (it’s happened before….)...”
Thank you for this post. I’ve been trying to find a map or blueprint to figure out if Dean and Cas have bedrooms with an adjoining wall, it’s my head canon that they do, and the heads of their beds are on the same wall (even though I know this is unlikely I want to BELIEVE)
*insert actual insane laughter here*
Slightly longer answer, we can’t map the bedrooms with any great deal of accuracy, so your headcanon cannot be shot out of the water now or ever.
Actual answer, the bedrooms move and I don’t know where room 15 is located yet and even if I did, the bedrooms fucking move.
I can tell you exactly where Dean’s room and Sam’s room are located on the SET. Room 15 is a mystery and likely to remain that way, same way I can’t accurately pinpoint where the showers are, and the Garage and Dungeon/Gun Range are separate structures so they don’t actually align with the rest of the Bunker. The best we can do with any of these is implied directions from actor movement and camera angles.
Nevertheless, I cannot tell you where Sam’s room is on a map. On the set, Sam’s bedroom and Dean’s bedroom are located on the same hallway, opposite walls. The show goes out of it’s way to emphasize (on at least five occasions that I can think of without checking my notes), that Sam’s bedroom and Dean’s bedroom are on separate hallways. Which means that Sam’s bedroom is implied as being several different directions, including the opposite side of the War Room; Dean’s bedroom moves hallways shortly after he beats the crap out of Cas in 10x22; Mary gets lost going 20 feet in 12x09 trying to find Dean’s bedroom and his cellphone; and oh yes... 13x02 has reduced me to tears, because Jack’s bedroom was on a hallway that does. Not. Belong there. Which means Dean’s room moved AGAIN.
This is why the Eldritch Bunker exists (the headcanon/minor religion that the Bunker is, in fact, a sentient and benevolent Eldritch Monstrosity that is responsible for the arrangement of the floorplan and all inconsistencies thereof)(it keeps me sane)(for given amounts of sane, seeing as I still try to map this insanity).
Because the Bunker cannot truly be mapped. I’ve tried. Other people before me have tried (I’ve met a few). At this point I have spent literally more than a hundred hours collecting data, sketching maps, and trying to make the ends fit together, and they just don’t.
So there is nothing in canon, nor can there or will there ever be anything that I will accept as canon (because the rooms MOVE), that says Dean’s room and the room Cas stays in are not on adjoining walls.
