3/3 very small comfy building that encouraged a lot of free thought. I have a few specific examples of some of the things I have heard the preachers/others etc. say in the churches that could say very offensive things if you would like me to also tell you some of those(Also going back to what the other anon said, I went to a catholic church for a while and even though I wasn't ever a member or attending for a long time, the architecture was extremely beautiful/almost intimidating)

oooh I have a friend who's UU and ze really likes it.  I volunteered at a marriage equality phone bank which happened at one of the two local UU churches around where I'm from? They seem pretty awesome even though I know very little about it.  Yeah.  Free spirituality for all!

2/? teachings (i have no idea what other mormon churches policies are on that I just know they didn't do it there) It was a real breath of fresh air, because before that I had been to quite a few Southern Baptist churches which are sort of renowned for being strictly conservative and being VERY vocal about it (not speaking for all just the ones I have been to) I also really enjoyed the universalist/unitarian church I attended (I don't remember exactly what they referred to it as) It was in a

1/? As far as the architecture goes I think it just depends on the specific place and not necessarily the denomination. The mormon church I went to had such a home-y vibe. It wasn't super fancy or super plain, it was just nice. It felt like a friends slightly-nicer-because-its-not-yours house or something. It just had a real warm friendly vibe about it. It was really dark brick and the walls were all painted in these really calming colors, they also didn't seem to bring politics into their

Were you serious about wanting to hear about peoples church experiences? My parents are extremely explorative? I suppose in that area so I have been to a lot of different churches/other places of religious meeting. I also live in a place where lots of churches do spew hateful things (and I have been to a few of them without knowing until later) So yeah, if you want to hear about experiences, I've had quite a few.

I personally really want to know about the architecture in different places and how it made you/the congregants feel about the concept of the thing and the theology itself.  But if we're just talking for the purposes of this conversation (and cause it's on the 100funfics blog) I'd like to hear about what those hateful things were and how they were presented.

Oh and on the origin of the picture, a girl posted it (i don't remember her url) but she goes to the same school Nate went to and one of the guys in the pic is her English teacher who knew Nate in high school (and the one who showed her the pic) so I'm pretty sure that its Nate. (Plus in another pic of him later in high school he has the same glasses).
