Post 12: In which Vespa participates in Ace Day and tells the world she’s demi/grey, and also had totally forgotten to post a picture of her new haircut which is looking spiffy today

Today is Ace Day (more info here)! I don’t generally consider myself ace, but I am comfortable with the demi/grey label, which technically falls under that spectrum, so... yay!

I am indeed wearing purple and grey eyeshadow today, but it didn’t really show up in the photo, so this is sliiightly enhanced...

I love selfies. So many people struggle with self-hate, and we often feel like our ownership of our bodies has been taken away by other people's ridicule and hatred. Selfies are a way of taking back that ownership, of empowering ourselves, standing up and saying "This is what I look like, this is me, and I am trying to love myself."

But to tag your selfie as whiteout is just racist. Seriously. I've already written like, what, 3 posts in the past two hours on the subject? So I won't rehash the details here. But seriously.

Post your selfies (I posted a picture today as part of my photo project specifically intended to overwrite habitual self-hate), but please for the love of all things good, DO NOT TAG THEM WHITE OUT.
