Not Canon. Edward and Winry are canonically in love and later start a relationship. Paninya starts as Edward's friend, and once he introduces her to Winry they immediately bond over their shared interest and passion for automails, then developing a crush for each other. I feel like becoming a polycule wouldn't be much of an issue, and there wouldn't be any jealousy in the process, cause Ed loves and fully trusts Winry so if that's what she wants, he's in. Plus, he and Paninya are still friends, so it's not awkward at all. I think they get along very well and thanks to Winry beinf very firm about open communication it's easy to make it work.
Grendan/Rosé/York:
Not Canon? I think? They aren't romantically involved, but they are very close as a trio which I think in canon is platonic, but I see something else besides just friendship, so I think queerplatonic is a better way to describe their partnership. Queerplatonic means different things to different people, I'm not going to explain it here but we did have a discussion during last year's tournaments and the general consensus was that yes there are queerplatonic polycules, and this is one of those to me. Not romantic, but different from friendship. This mostly comes from things that started as bits and due to the nature of the show are now canon (such as all three of them sharing a bed, the fact they collectively decide to adopt a different character as their shared son, and also they collectively try to date the same guy at one point.)
Not Canon. Also not even possible in canon but who cares. Whether it's a Ghost!Gerry or a Gerry lives AU I love them and they love each other. I really think if Gerry had been alive and they got to properly meet, he could've fallen in love with Jon. Maybe not immediately, he would actually probably think Jon is a bit of an idiot before they met, but we know Gerry likes to help people, despite trying to act annoyed about it, and seeing as Jon desperately needs help and Gerry has some answers, that would be the door for them to get closer. Worth noting that in canon it seems like Jon has a crush on Gerry from reading the statements, and seems starstruck when they meet. Martin would probably feel jealous at first, but he would appreciate that Gerry takes care of Jon. Alsi Jon is already in love with Martin, so it would just be a matter of Jon figuring out he is allowed to be in love with two people and those two people also love him. They could work as a V or a triangle, I think the idea of Martin's jealousy slowly turning into a crush is cute.
Abigail/Sebastian/Sam/Penny:
Not Canon. Sam, Sebastian and Abigail are very close friends and seem pretty much inseperable, most festivals you will see the three of them together. If Sam is not with them, he is with Penny, being one of her only friends. Originally I wanted Stardew Valley to be a huge polycule with all the romanceable options, but with Emily + Haley and Maru + Sebastian being siblings that idea was quickly tossed out. Even if they wouldn't be dating each other, it still made me uncomfortable, personally, that they might date the same people. So instead I looked for something that I genuinely believe would make sense in canon. I'm pretty sure if you don't date any of them, the implication is that Abigail would date Sebastian and Sam would date Penny. That plus the dynamic I mentioned at the start, of their interactions in game, I like to think Abigail/Sebastian/Sam would be a triangle polycule, and Sam would also be dating Penny. I just personally don't see Penny dating either of the other two, but I'd love to see them become closer friends as metamours!
Canon. Wu Zetian and Gao Yizhi are in love from the beginning, but she has to leave him behind to achieve her goal of becoming a concubine pilot, a possibility fatal job, which leads to a rushed proposal by Yizhi, who's from a well off family, in hopes she will give up. She doesn't accept the proposal, and continues with her plans. However, as punishment for something she does in her first mission, she is partnered with Li Shimin, the most powerful pilot and a very dangerous man, in hopes that she would not survive fighting alongside him. Turns out he's actually a softie and they learn a lot from each other, growing close. Gao Yizhi is able to rejoin her so he can help them, especially focusing on helping Shimin with his addiction. It's very clear Yizhi had a major crush on Li Shimin from day one, and eventually the three of them decide to date each other. They are a triangle.
Gwen/Miles/Hobie:
Not Canon. We don't know too much about movie Hobie, he's a bit of a mysterious character and has limited screentime in Across the Spiderverse. What we do know is Miles and Gwen are in love, but Gwen is very close to Hobie, Hobie cares about her very much, and Miles clearly gets jealous at first. That's quickly forgotten as Hobie is one of the first people to take Miles's side, showing that he cares for and respect Miles even if they just met. I think the three of them would be cute together, and Miles deserves 2 partners tbh. They'd be a triangle to me, all dating each other.
Canon. After some events in the prologue, Julien needs a new place to stay and rents a room in a house shared by Marnie and Roman, an already established couple (oh my god, they were roommates!). Their shared love for music leads them to form a band together, and as they become closer, feelings blossom. A drunken kiss leads to a very apologetic and anxious Julien and a lot of confusion between Marnie and Roman, as the realize they're also each developing feelings for him. They eventually have a conversation, admitting their feelings for each other, and become a polycule. They are a triangle, as they're all dating each other. (Julie also has a journey as he explores his gender identity, which isn't relevant to the polycule propaganda, I guess, but something I always like to see. Go read the comic!!!)
Elise/Hotaru/Kayla:
Canon. A group of high schoolers and their basketball coach survive the apocalypse together, Kayla and Hotaru being part of this group. Later, they find an ex-classmate's (Elise) house where they can hideout for a while with another group of survivors from their school. Hotaru and Elise don't seem to get along at first, despite having a mutual crush on each other. When the house is attacked by zombies, Elise confesses her love for Hotaru just before saving her and getting bit. This leads to a lot of conflicted feelings, as Hotaru has to figure out her feelings for Kayla while grieving the loss of Elise. Hotaru and Kayla start dating, and after a while it's revealed Elise survived, in a way, by cutting out the bitten arm and only partially turning. Conflicted feelings ensue and they eventually become a polycule. (Go read the comic!!!)

While the premise likely sounds a bit selfish, I hope you find something among the contestants that speaks to you, and maybe you'll have yourself a new polyship or even just a new piece of beloved media even if you disagree with me (which is fine!!). Do keep in mind the ships vary from canon, to personal headcanons that will never happen to "the creators were onto something here I swear but they were cowards".

As a personal rule to myself, I left out 3 of our beloved polycules from last year because the next poll will be rare polyships, and I believe they fit that category. They will be returning there!
There will be revival rounds because I was unable to narrow the list down to 16, and I didn't want to exclude any other ships. So if a polyship you like loses their first poll, not all hope is lost!!

Canon. One of the romance options in the game (and also the one that would be considered the true route if this was a dating sim) is a polycule between Zagreus, Thanatos and Megaera. Meg and Zag are exes who still have feelings for each other, while Zag and Than are childhood friends falling in love. Their routes happen mostly separate, but Zagreus tells each of them that he has feelings for the other, and they're all perfectly fine with it. After a while dating both, you can get a scene where Meg and Than are waiting for Zagreus in his room between runs, among other things discussed, they hint at the fact the two of them had some type of relationship (likely sexual) way before either started dating Zag. For this reason I see them romantically as more of a V, with Zag in the center, but when it comes to physical intimacy it is a triangle. I thinm this was my first exposure to canon polyamory, so they mean a lot to me.
Leah/Farmer/Elliot:
Not Canon, technically. It can be real in your heart, but unless the most recent uodate includes polyamory (which would be great but I don't think it does?) you can only romance one at a time. Honestly Leah and Elliot are just two of my favorites, I like that they are artistic, which are traits they share with me, and I just think they are both so pretty?? They appear to be close friends, you can often see the two of them together during festivals and other events, too, which might mean they're each other's romantic interest in case you don't choose them. But we do choose them. We choose both of them.

Geralt/Jaskier/Yennefer:
Not Canon. I'll be honest I never got around to season 3 for some reason, but it doesn't matter cause I've been a shipper since season 1, and season 2 had really good Yennefer/Jaskier moments which strengthened my love for them. Geralt is a lot kinder to Jaskier in the books, I think the way he shows his love is more earnest, but even in the show with his harsh words and major fuck up I still read it as him being in love, he's just an idiot about it. I actually kinda see Jaskier as kind of the glue that unites them, because Yenn and Geralt are a bit emotionally constipated (I don't blame them, they went through some shit in life), and as a poet and a romantic, Jaskier helps with that. On the other hand, him being a mortal, I like to think Geralt and Yennefer are very protective of him! They're a triangle to me.
Georgie/Melanie/Helen Distorion:
Not Canon. Once again, I refuse to separate Georgie and Melanie. Melanie seems to form a very close bond to Helen during the time Jon is in his coma, and sometimes you just fall in love with the monster in your basement, it is what it is! I think it works as both a V with Melanie in the middle or a triangle, seeing as Helen makes Melanie happy and Georgie wouldn't be scared of the Distortion, I could see them eventually falling in love. I imagine Helen would be fascinated by Georgie's lack of fear, and the fascination could grow into fondness and love.

Georgie/Melanie/Basira/Daisy:
Not Canon. This one is for the toxic yuri lovers 💖 Georgie and Melanie as canonically a couple and I refuse to separate them. Daisy/Basira have a very strong codependent "us against the world" relationship that a lot of people choose to interpret as romantic. For the purposes of this polyship so do I. During season 3 Melanie and Basira start becoming closer, bonding mostly over the anger they share due to their circumstances. I think this bond has the potential to become a relationship, although maybe they are not fully in love with each other, but their mutual understanding bring them a sense of comfort they need. I don't see Daisy ever being interested in anyone else except Basira, but I think she'd be supportive of whatever Basira wanted, and would get along with Melanie as her metamour. In another world, I could see them meeting as normal couples and forming a much healthier polycule from that.
Roy/Keeley/Jamie:
Not Canon (cause the writers are cowards). Jamie and Roy used to hate each other, and over the course of the show, as both of them grow as people, theh become best friends. At the start of the show Keeley is dating Jamie, and a while after their break up she gets together with Roy. Despite his jealousy and the fact he hates Roy's guts, Jamie was always respectful of Keeley's decision. I think her history with both of them, the fact they both openly state they love her and it's very clear she loves them too, plus the development of Roy&Jamie from enemies/rivals to best friends would've been a perfect opportunity for polyamory. I see this as a V polycule, two best friends who happen to share a girlfriend, but maybe one day they could go from best friends to lovers too, who knows!
