I saw someone doing one of these and it looked fun so here we go!
Honestly I’m so burned out right now. I’m a little disappointed in myself too?Reflecting on my first semester, its pretty damn incredible how much I juggled first semester: two jobs, 5 APs, 7 classes with no free periods, developing my art portfolios for competitions and college supplements, and finishing my Stanford application by October 15th.
But at the same time, I lost my enthusiasm less than a week into school. Art History, a class I used to thoroughly enjoy, turned into a chore, and I completely fucked up math. Over the course of the semester, my effort slowly trickled away until I ended up scraping Bs on most of my tests (except for Psych, which I apparently have an affinity for)
Sometime after 1st quarter I got my shit together and really raised all of my grades up again. And then my Stanford decision came out and naturally I didn’t do so well.
Dead weak was physically painful and I pretty much skipped out on studying for all of my finals until the week of. And then, due to a culmination of factors including stress, my awful self care and an empty stomach, I ended up taking a trip to the hospital on the first day of finals. So that fucked everything up majorly.
Finals were rocky. I only had 4 real tests but due to my little Hospital incident, my schedule was way off. I aced AP Art History and AP Biology (a class that I only started doing well in after first quarter) but AP Psych went terribly. Considering the fact that I had a solid A and even an A+ in Psych for the ENTIRE semester, I was really sad to end up with an A- (As petty and annoying as that sounds). Basically I got an 11/16 on the final, which was fucking hard and of course I barely studied for (curse you overconfidence!).
I’m taking Calculus after the break and its sucks. I need like a 38/40 to even be considered for rounding up to an A so basically I’m fucked. And I really wanted to prove myself this year with my grades since I haven’t taken like any APs before this year.
As for social stuff, all of my friendships are slowly dying and I literally hung out with nobody for the entire first semester outside of school. Honestly, school has literally sucked all of the life out of me.
But grades wise I ended up with all As and TBD for AP Calculus due to extenuating medical circumstances.
