I attribute having a mercury that is next to your sun sign (i.e., Leo sun & Virgo mercury) to the trickster function. For example, INFJs are introverted thinkers (Ti), so they're completely blind to extroverted thinking (Te). It's like you have an inner/personal logic that cannot be expressed efficiently to the masses. It doesn't mean your logic is wrong, but a little flawed. Ti priorities correctness, but your personal understanding might not register or be helpful to other people. Imagine a Leo sun who is cracking jokes, dancing on the table, then they start debating religion with you. Hit you with "um actually that is incorrect". It's like damn– why so serious all of a sudden? You have to become highly detailed with communicating or following systems & logic, especially when you're sharing it with others.

Conjunction (Major aspect)

The conjunction - or 0 degrees - implies that the planets, whether transiting or natal, occupy approximately the same position in the chart. This is considered the strongest blend of energies represented by the two planets.

Opposition (Major aspect)

The opposition - or 180 degrees - reflects planets on opposite points of the Zodiac, or approximately 180 degrees apart. This is considered a dynamic, or difficult, aspect. The planetary energies are polarized; outer events stimulate their interaction; integration is the challenge.

Trine (Major aspect)

The trine - or 120 degrees - reflects planets in harmonious alignment with each other. This is considered flowing, or relatively easy to handle. The planetary energies flow smoothly; the connection is beneficial.

Square (Major aspect)

The square - or 90 degrees - is a considered a dynamic or difficult aspect. The planetary energies conflict; internal and creative tensions bring rich rewards through effort over time.

Sextile (Major aspect)

The sextile - or 60 degrees - represents one sixth of the circle, and is a flowing alignment. The planetary energies flow together, open into new possibilities, new connections.

Inconjunct (Minor aspect)

The Inconjunct of 150 degrees, which is also called a quincunx, represents an uneasy relationship between the planets. The planetary energies do not flow smoothly, one or the other predominates; discrimination must be employed.

Quintile (Minor aspect)

The quintile - of 72 degrees - or one fifth of the circle, is subtle, mystical and esoteric. The planetary energies are positively linked and spiritual in dimension.

Semi-sextile (Minor aspect)

The semi-sextile - or 30 degrees - is considered an uneasy alignment, another form of inconjunction. The planetary energies attract each other, require effort, allow entry of new information.

The semi-square - of 45 degrees - is a minor dynamic alignment. The planetary energies conflict in determined subtle tension; calmness is required.

Sun semi-sextile Venus culture?

hmm i don’t think i know enough about the semi-sextile aspect to do a culture post ;/ buttt sun semi-sextile venus could result in an imbalance in self-love. you may be someone who thinks very highly of yourself on some days, and others you can be self-deprecating (this can also applying to ascendant as well). you could be shy about entering relationships, but can be outgoing and even impulsive in other aspects of life. sorry this one is short, but i don’t know the most about minor aspects

the power of the semisextile

It’s been my experience that the signs tend to act 30% like the sign before them and 70% like the sign after them, and thus become a somewhat imbalanced amalgam of those signs. For instance, I know of and have seen a lot of Pisces that act like Aries and I know of only a couple that act like an Aquarius. At any rate, here’s how signs that are semisextile make their influence felt in each sign:

Aspects are geometric and numerological; they are symbolic like the other components of astrological birth charts, so they carry their own universal meaning even outside the context of the birth chart.

Instead of ruling realms of experience like the houses, fundamental forces like the planets, or modes of action like the signs, the aspects rule vibrations. Every encounter you have in life takes place on a certain frequency or vibration. When you contact the vibration of an aspect, it is activated in your chart.

It is not only that aspects appear through the manifestations of their involved planets; the involved planets also appear through the vibration of their aspects. For example, when you encounter interpersonal conflicts, the planets in your chart which square each other will arise to express themselves. When you encounter creative situations or inspiration, the quintile planets in your chart arise to express themselves. As the aspect defines the relationship between those planets, those planets define your relationship with that aspect’s vibration, your experience of it and the way you choose to behave while contacting it.

Sun semi-sextile Moon & South Node in the 4th House (Natal)

I can relate to the semi-sextile in more ways than one, the aspect doesn’t get enough attention in astrology in my opinion it’s like the neglected child. The child nobody notices in the background, silently planning and plotting its next mischievous move in the shadows. I have my Sun semi-sextile my moon and South Node in the 4th House in my natal chart and most astrologers don’t really consider this a “major” aspect which I do agree with to an extent  but it doesn’t mean it should be forgotten and that it is not felt deeply in my personality, because it most certainly is. I view the semi-sextile as a conscious tool, but also a subconscious tool as well because semi-sextiles do their best work while we are asleep. That is why it is so powerful, because it is represented by the sacred number 12, ruled by Neptune/Pisces. This “Wallflower” aspect KNOWS the plan, it preps us to let go of unnecessary human urges, materialistic wants, and things we try to hold onto that do not help us grow. We know the issue is there and we can use it to our advantage at certain moments. I know that there is always something about myself that I can adjust. I know myself enough to know where I fall short, and I always strive to work on those aspects of my personality. We can always be better...always. I’ve often found myself being that middle person between two people arguing...I am “Switzerland” I say, I have the ability to see two sides of things. I have the ability to see the “bigger picture”, the ability to put the shoe on the other foot. That being said, my Sun is where I am going what I am learning to be. My moon I heavily identify to my mother, and my South I identify with people that I HAVE been before in other lifetimes and the qualities about myself that I’d like to leave behind...I identify it with family patterns as they are very Scorpionic in my ancestry, the South Node exposes this. All of these aspects fall in the 4th House. Bring it back to the Sacred number 12,  quoting from ‘Astrologers’ Community’ “In the 12th House there is the continuation of unfinished business and the confrontation of inherited family problems. The 12th House gives us the power to release skeletons in the closet.”  Meaning that the toxic maternal family patterns need to be broken. It is my job to change that, so it does not go on repeated in my family lineage. This is the lesson I need to learn and reflect on for the preservation of my very very broken family line.

What do you mean when it comes to signs being semi-sextile and quincunx?

If two signs are semi-sextile, they are next to each other and have varying meanings. In terms of compatibility or even in the natal chart, they can both go either way. The proximity can be uncomfortable, since these planets have no traits in common. But there are traits that both learn and adapt from each other nonetheless. This is a minor aspect so this really depends on the other planets in the chart.

However, if two signs are quincunx/inconjunct, they’re formed between planets that are roughly 150 degrees apart. The planets and points involved in a quincunx don’t understand each other. Unless it’s an out-of-sign quincunx, the signs not only are of a different element, they are also of a different modality. A very good example of this is Leo/Pisces. Leo is fixed fire, Pisces is mutable water-- there’s lots of differences between the signs and it’s pretty tricky to find something common in between them.
