Jeff Flake will vote "Yes” on Brett Kavanaugh. That will bring the GOP to 49 affirmative votes.

Susan Collins and Lisa Murkowski, who claim to be pro-choice and whose constituents overwhelmingly oppose Kavanaugh, will both vote “No”...

...because they’ve struck a deal to ensure that Kavanaugh will be confirmed anyway: Conservative pro-life Democrat Joe Manchin will vote “Yes.”

That leaves the vote tied at 50-50. Mike Pence will break the tie, and he will of course vote to confirm.

A hazmat team was deployed to the home of Senator Susan Collins (R- ME) over a “suspicious letter” according to Fox and Breitbart. Leftists had threatened her after she provided a swing vote to confirm Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme court. The nature of the suspicious letter is unclear.

Senator Collins will not back anti-abortion Supreme Court nominee

A key moderate Republican U.S. senator said on Sunday that she will not support a nominee to fill a soon-to-be-vacated seat on the Supreme Court who would overturn a landmark legal ruling that supports a woman's right to abortion.

We need to keep the pressure on Democratic Senators Joe Manchin of West Virginia, Joe Donnelly of Indiana and Heidi Heitkamp of North Dakota and on Republican Senator Lisa Murkowski.  They are on recess right now, so it's the perfect time to protest at their offices in state or at various functions where they are likely to be.  If you can't, here are some other options:

Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine) became the second GOP senator to come out against the Trump administration's plan to open up offshore drilling off the coast of several states.

Collins opposed drilling in the offshore waters off the coast of the State of Maine. Rubio opposes it off the coast of the State of Florida. No surprise here; senators are representing their states, so localized opposition is ok. But if more republican senators from other eastern coastal states oppose, then we start seeing the likelihood that the planned expansion of offshore drilling meeting its demise before it even gets moving.

Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine) became the second GOP senator to come out against the Trump administration's plan to open up offshore drilling off the coast of several states.

In a tweet Friday, Collins called the Interior Department's plan to expand offshore drilling off of Maine's coast a "significant risk" to the state's coastal economy and ecology.

"I continue to oppose efforts to open Maine’s coast to drilling, which poses significant risk to marine and coastal resources, our economy, and our way of life. I oppose the Department of the Interior‘s draft plan," the senator tweeted.

Collins is the second Republican senator to announce opposition to the Interior Department's plan, which is currently undergoing a 30-day review period before being finalized.

Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) announced his opposition to the plan in a press release Thursday, joining fellow Florida Sen. Bill Nelson (D) in his dissent.

Gosh I’m so glad Senator McCain pleasantly surprised me but listen: Sen. Lisa Murkowski of Alaska ( R ) and Sen. Susan Collins of Maine ( R ) also voted “no” (they’ve been saying “no” from the start) and let’s not forget SENATOR MAZIE HIRONO OF HAWAI'I ( D ) who is also battling late-stage cancer and FLEW OUT FROM HAWAI'I TO D.C. (nearly a 10 hour flight fun fact) to vote “no.” So, yeah, the pageantry of it all and the gasps were fun and satisfying but it doesn’t rectify a steady stream of voting for the foundations of a nightmare realm, and is not the pinnacle of being a politician that cares about their constituents. BIG thank you’s and respect to Sens. Hirono, Collins and Murkowski.
