The Notes vs. The Grades
I've had people tell me doing notes is pointless but here I am with the highest grades I've ever gotten 🤧
Doing notes is my learning style but if note taking isn't your style, that's okay! to each their own !!
A Brief Explanation of how I Colorcode My Subjects
I've been using this technique to colorcode my subjects since 10th grade and it has helped me lots in remembering my schedule and keeps me in order.
1. Create your schedule
The moment you get a list of your classes, make your schedule. It makes it easier to visualize how your schedule works. If you have subject codes, make a legend so that you don't forget which subject code is which. I used MS Excel to layout my schedule.
2. Mark your gap hour/s
Once you've laid out your schedule, mark down or highlight your gap hour/s. I usually mark my gaps with gray so it doesn't get confused with my subjects but you can choose any color you prefer.
3. Highlight your subjects in rainbow order
This is the fun part. Start by highlighting your first subject in red. For me, I personally prefer starting with pink then having my second subject as red and so on. I just think the transition of pink to red is easier to the eyes.
4. Complete colorcoding your subjects
Once you've highlighted all of your subjects in roygbiv order, you're done! But if you have more subjects than what colors the rainbow has, you can choose to repeat a color or use other colors. For me, I use pink and brown as color fillers whenever my subjects are more than six but you can opt to use light green/dark green or light blue/dark blue to broaden your color range :D
And you're done!
I hope this little tutorial of sorts helped you or give you a idea of how to colorcode your subjects. Have fun!
