Comparing characters i find similar pt2: Goo Kim from Lookism and Seo Jintae from Castle

Goo Kim girlies come on in and let me introduce you to ur man in another universe 😘😔🙏, he's literally the reason why I got into Castleverse in the first place
Coincidentally, Jintae had finally return in Castle II latest chapter so this post can technically be count as a celebration for his comeback 💐💐💐
I. Similar aspects:
•Appearance
-This has gotta be the most obvious and prominent one 💀. Blonde slicked back hair w glasses, handsome as hell 😚. The only difference I can think of when I looked at them is their eyebrows
•They're both fall into the comic-relief character archetype that would lock tf in in crucial times
-Goo and his silly ass is like the signature of Lookism atp. His funny and unserious personality is so iconic that he's loved by many in the fandom, to the point where he's like the face of the PTJ-universe (alongside Gun ofc but this isn't about him). And whenever a fight occurs, he is usually seen to fool around a bit before dropping the goofy act and start fighting earnestly
-As for Jintae, he too is someone w an extrovert and giddy demeanor (though not as self defining as Goo iykyk). He's often seen w a playful smile throughout the story and yes, just like our beloved blondie from Lookism, switches to serious mode upon engaging in battle
-Both of them are also very provocative to their opponents (in other words: professional ragebaiters 🫶) and are caring towards their subordinates and partner (Goo w the secret friends and Gun/Jintae w Yeong and Kim Shin)
•Fashionable
-Not really a feature that people mention whenever Goo is being talked about but it is constantly shown in Lookism that he's a fashionable man. From work suits to casual clothing, he's dripped tf out
-Jintae fashion sense is also demonstrated a lot, especially in his own spin-off manhwa where it shows where his style comes from. He might not be as flamboyant or expensive looking as Goo or be seen in nearly as much suits but the clothes he wears are still very chic and trendy.
And fun fact: Shopping is canonically his favorite interest
•Weapon user instead of a brawler
-Yes, Goo is strong in ordinary fist fight but he shines best w a weapon, specifically w a sword. Not to mention he's a duel wielder, this shows his credibility within the field of using tools instead of being bare-handed like other fighters in the verse
-As for Jintae, he's also a weapon specialist and duel wielder. His weapon mastery is top-notch and is considered be strong in the verse, taking down multiple men all at once with just two knives
-The only difference here is Goo is an expert at using swords while Jintae favors knives. Goo was also seen to use other tools as a sword, Jintae unfortunately wasn't as versatile but is still a skilled fighter regardless
II. Different aspects
•Fighting styles
-As I've said before, the spotlight shines to Goo when he uses a sword. But aside from being a swordsman, he can basically use any tools at hand to maximize his ability when in a fight. And Goo Kim is somebody who enjoy violence, he's super sadistic and vicious towards whoever he's up against
-Jintae is a knife user and is not rlly as flexible w the materials around him like Goo. He's also shown to have less malice and murderous aura even tho he's an assassin (take this w a grain of salt cuz this is just my personal opinion). Jintae is skilled w guns as well and he too is still a great fighter when it comes to no weapons
•Few characteristics
-Comparing the fights that these two have had. I would say that Jintae is somewhat more composed and level-headed than Goo when in a battle
When dealing w emotions like rage, grief or defeat, Jintae seems more open to expressing these feelings. But when we look at Goo whenever he's down, the only thing that portrays his feelings is his frowning face and a serious surface
-Another small difference in their personality is that Goo loves money while Jintae loves women 🤭🤭🤭. Not in a womanizer type of way but in a smooth talker that gets all flustered and embarrassed if theres a pretty girl
•What they thrive for and how it affect their relationships
(light spoilers ahead. Character death mention but I won't specify who died)
-Seeing the current Incheon arc makes me think that we don't actually know who Goo really is, but ill go w what is most obvious , that is his greed. He loves money, constantly charging people that asked for his help (ofc he doesnt rlly ask for his money as he loves the thrill of violence more but u get what i mean), heck he even agreed to work w Charles for that fat paycheck.
Fairness is also an important thing to Goo seeing how in one of his conditions for him to work w Charles, he demanded to not be treated like an underling. His reason for betrayal also stems from power imbalance and injustice where Gun and him was the one that did all the work yet Charles ended up being the one that gets everything
This whole ordeal led him to create the Secret friends and asked Gun to come over to his side instead. But ofc as we all know, Gun rejected him and they ended up having to fight each other. This is an important part of Goo's characterization. It shows that to him, his goal matters a lot and he wouldn't hesitate to leave what is dear to him behind, be that his best friend or whoever.
(This is why we should choose our boss properly)
-Jintae however, does not have any greed in his heart. He works for Kim Shin, a man who saved him when he was being trafficked and gave him a new life, which is why he is filled w nothing but gratitude and respects towards him.
He's Kim Shin right hand man and upon failing a mission that causes the death of quite a major character, Kim Shin still trusted him, saying that he has never doubt him for even a second (take notes Gun and Goo 😒🙄). Currently in the story, Kim Shin's path of revenge is being doubted by so many. But guess who has never been uncertain w his decision to follow Shin? Jintae.
Between the two, theres no power imbalance nor personal conflict and it has remained that way since the beginning of the story.
IN CONCLUSION:
Goo broke up w his man and said man left him a child (Daniel) to take care of while Jintae is happy w his hubby and son (Pyo Yeong) hahahahaha 🫵🫵🫵
