SYNOPSIS. Park Jonggun is a remarkable prodigy from the Yamazaki family. Born into a yakuza lineage, he's expected to excel in every way. It all hinges on Yamazaki Shintaro marrying him off to a yakuza heiress at such a young age, in the hope of preserving their traditional strength. And the chosen one was no other than you, Yamamoto [Name].
CW. spoilers from the manhwa, slight angst, slow burn, slight nsfw, probably a lot of grammatical errors cause eng ain't my first language.
Gun’s life was never idyllic. At a young age, he already understood the gap between himself and the happy children he saw with their parents. He had to endure years of systematic abuse and impossible expectations just to earn a name for himself under his supposed father, Yamazaki Shingen.
His memories of the younger days are a hazy cocktail of resentment mixed with the brief, stolen kindness of a cousin now long gone. Gun knows exactly how the underworld functions, and he has no intention of being a victim of it.
To him, the weak are nothing but a bore... Hence he is driven by a singular, violent ambition to stand at the top.
It came as a surprise one day when a maid fetched young Gun from his chambers. Her voice hushed as she delivered the message wherein Yamazaki Shintaro had requested his presence immediately. Whatever the reason was, the urgency was palpable and Gun knew better than to keep him waiting.
When he stepped into the room, the air felt thick. His eyes swept over the guests. They were unfamiliar faces with the unmistakable signs of another Yakuza family.
Gun didn't utter a word– he never did. Because living in a world like his, silence is the greatest armor.
He crossed the room while maintaining a perfect, unreadable mask. The only sound was the faint rustle of his movements as he took his place on the tatami mat. Shintaro sat like a statue beside him, eyes glued to his nephew from the moment he stepped inside the room. The heavy silence stretched until Gun was fully settled as the weight of a dozen unspoken threats hanging in the air.
“So, this is him?" the elder guest mused, his voice cutting through the heavy silence. Shintaro offered a sharp, singular nod. "Now that you've seen him for yourself, what are your thoughts? Surely you wouldn't reject such a generous offer?"
What offer? Gun wondered as his mind raced. He fought to keep his expression a perfect blank, stifling the urge to let confusion or disdain flicker across his face.
A slight movement caught his peripheral vision immediately. Tucked beside the older stranger sat a girl, appearing no older than Gun himself.
She looked timid at first glance but as their gazes locked, she stared back with a haunting, shameless intensity. Gun felt a sneer threatening to break his composure. What is a weak girl like her doing in a room like this?
The guest chuckled this time. It was a sound of pure greed as if he had just hit the jackpot. He looked like a shameless creature who would willingly trade his own blood like livestock in exchange for a payout.
“He is more than I could have hoped for. Very well, the deal stands,” the man declared. Shintaro offered a thin, knowing smirk.
It was the kind he would wear whenever he’d orchestrated something iniquitous for the sake of the clan. It was a look of satisfaction that rarely boded well for Gun.
“And the wedding?” the guest pressed. “When shall it be?”
“Patience. We have only just reached an agreement... The details can wait,” Shintaro hummed. His gaze finally shifted toward Gun and the poor boy felt himself flinch.
He could never truly stomach Shintaroʼs icy stare.
“Gun, this is the Yamamoto family. Surely you’ve heard of them from the Ghost Brothers?” Gun offered a silent nod. As a six-year-old, what else could he do? He was trapped.
“Good. That girl before you is their daughter. You are to be wed to her,” Shintaro stated, his voice devoid of any regard for the boy’s life.
Gun didn't know what to feel. Anger, resentment, sadness– they all surged at once before settling into a cold and hollow numbness. His gaze drifted back to the girl.
She hadn't moved. She simply stared at him, as hollow and silent as a marionette.
That day, a pact was sealed in blood and ink. All of it just to gained a stronghold against Kim Gapryong. To Gun, such logic was flawed. If the Yamazaki were truly the strongest, why did they need to hide behind alliances?
He couldn't understand why Shintaro would tether him to someone else when he was being trained to be a singular force of nature. Gun didn't need a companion to navigate the underworld. He was perfectly capable of carving his own path.
Whenever the Yamamoto visited, Shintaro forced them to spend time together. It was a task Gun found utterly gruelling because according to him, the girl was an enigma he had no desire to solve.
Everything about her was strange. Her speech was incoherent, her stares were unnervingly intense and above all, she was fragile. Seeing her trip over her own kimono and bleed so easily turned his stomach.
I’m supposed to marry this? Gun would think as a wave of disgust washing over him. He would rather break every bone in his body through training than spend another minute bound to someone so fragile.
Everything shifted when Shintaro uncovered the truth of their origins and betrayed Shingen. In an instant, the world collapsed. One by one, the clan turned their backs on Yamazaki Shingen. All except Gun.
The bloodbath ended with his father’s death and his mother’s betrayal. Realizing Japan was no longer safe, Gun fled to Korea with the help of the very woman who had abandoned him.
Years bled into one another until Gun finally returned to Japan to usurp the throne from Shintaro. He succeeded in claiming his birthright with lethal precision, but the victory was hollow.
He had no family left. His mother had sacrificed herself to ensure his survival, and the loss stung more than he cared to admit.
It was a feeling he despised... A raw, human ache that had no place in the heart of the Yamazaki patriarch.
"What? Are you serious?" one of the Yamazaki underlings barked, furrowing his brow and crossing his arms in defiance. "You want us to act as proxies for the clan?"
Gun who was draped in a loose yukata, gave a sidelong glance as he dressed. The years had been transformative to him. His frame was a map of rippling muscle and jagged scars, and his arms heavily decorated with intricate tattoos.
He had grown into a man who was as lethal as he was striking.
"That was the plan. Do you have a problem with it?" Gun’s voice was low, dangerous.
"It’s not that, but... how should we answer the Yamamoto leader when she finds out about your return? If we lie, we'd be dead. She's been asking us to track you down since your disappearance. Shintaro doesn't know about this, of course,"
Yamamoto.
It was a familiar name, but Gun didn't pay it any mind at first. "I thought that clan was wiped out the day they sided with Shintaro to annihilate Shingen."
"Mostly wiped out by Shingen," the underling corrected.
...And Shintaro used to say Yamamoto is their strongest ally. What a joke.
"The only survivors were the elder and his daughter. But the elder was assassinated not long after the battle ended,"
Gun paused, his hands hovering over the silk of his robe. "Assassinated? By whom?"
"His own daughter who abolished the Yamamoto organization. The very girl Shintaro betrothed you to, I believe."
Gun went still, his eyes tracking the path of the kunai that had barely missed him. At the entrance stood his betrothed.
Time had been just as kind to you as it had to him. You had matured into a beautiful woman yet your eyes remained the same. Except now, they carried a weight he couldn't name.
He stared at you in stunned silence. The fragile girl who once bled from a simple trip was gone. You watched him with a detached and clinical gaze, treating him like just another target.
"You..." Gun started, but the word died in his throat. He searched his memory, only to find a hollow space where your name should have been.
Had he ever even asked? The silence in the room grew heavy, fueled by his own embarrassment. He was the head of the Yamazaki clan yet he was standing in front of his wife, unable to even address you properly.
“Put that down,” Gun commanded, gesturing to the blade in your hand. You merely tilted your head upon hearing his tone. “You’ll hurt yourself with that,” he added, his voice low. But you didn't move and instead, your grip remained firm.
Clicking his tongue in irritation, Gun stepped into your space. He reached out, his large hands gently but firmly untangling your fingers from the hilt. Once the steel was free, he tossed it across the room... far out of your reach.
When you looked up at him, he felt a rare moment of uncertainty. His muscles twitched when your hand covered his calloused fingers, but he didn't pull away.
The contact was light, almost fragile.
He had come here to see the Yamamoto remnants for himself, unable to reconcile the image of the clumsy girl from his youth with the rumors of a cold-blooded patricide. Looking at you now, you're so silent and observant... just like you used to.
The idea of you murdering anyone felt impossible. Yet, he didn't truly care about the morality of it.
If your father had been anything like his own, Gun felt a flicker of grim pride that you had been the one to annihilate your tormentor.
Through the silence, your eyes softened as they locked onto his. In that wordless gaze, Gun felt a message he hadn't expected... Welcome back.
Beautiful, Gun thought as his fingers deftly plucked a stray flower. He never imagined the day he would willingly walk beside a woman while simply admiring her in silence. But that was the reality of life with you.
Three years had passed since he returned and in that time, he had made a definitive choice. He decided to keep the marriage.
At first, his decision hadn't been born of love. It was driven by cold curiosity and his duty as the head of the clan. He had viewed you as a responsibility, a piece of the Yamamoto legacy to be managed.
But three years of shared quiet had taught him that a partnership wasn't the burden he once feared. You were more endearing than he ever expected.
After learning from a Yamamoto maid about your selective mutism, the pieces of the puzzle clicked into place. Gun understood the math of it all too well. Your father who found joy in the abuse of his own children was a monster he recognized.
Now, he didn't just tolerate the silence. He embraced it. Your presence was a peaceful, rare sanctuary in his violent world. In his mind, you were still weird of course... but oddly enough, that was exactly what made him adore you more.
A soft smile touched your lips as Gun tucked the flower behind your ear. The way your eyes twinkled with excitement made his stomach churn.
It was a foreign, fluttering sensation he still struggled to name. When he’d described it to Goo, his friend had simply laughed and called it giddiness. Calling it love.
Love? Gun wondered. Could a monster like him truly feel it? Was he even worthy of it?
Those questions haunted the corners of his mind until one night, under a moon that turned the world to silver and a sea of stars that sparkled with mischief...
Your lips met in a kiss that began softly before igniting into a desperate, passionate flame. The tension broke the moment you climbed onto his lap. Your arms winding around his neck as your kimono slipped, baring your shoulders to the cool night air.
There was no hesitation in his touch anymore. He moved with you and his skin was hot against yours. You clung to him, your soft sobs of pleasure the only soundtrack to your union... until the silence finally broke.
"I love you,"
A word slipped from your lips like a mantra, breathless and holy.
It was the first time he had ever heard you speak, and the very first thing you gave him was your heart.
"Jonggun... I love you," you whispered again.
The sound of his name left Gun short-circuited and his breath hitching in his throat. After all, he was just a man.
He crushed his mouth to yours, growling out his own devotion between gasps. As the rhythm of your bodies intensified, the silence of the room was finally filled with the music of your pleasure.

GUN PARK
Your car had broken down in the middle of literal nowhere at one in the morning. Without a second thought you called Gun for help.
He arrived in exactly ten minutes and without a word started tinkering with your car.
He spent more than an hour fixing the broken alignment on your car.
"Done. It should be fine if you don't overexert the engine."
"Thank you so much Gun. Sorry for troubling you this late."
He waved off your thank you and started to wipe his hands with his handkerchief when he saw you.
Your knees hit the pavement with a thud.
His dark eyes looked down at you, first with surprise then with amusement.
"I wasn't expecting payment for this... but I'll accept this. Don't regret it.
SAMUEL SEO
Samuel had helped you out through his connections to settle out some legal procedures.
You personally went to his office in One MCN to thank him.
"Thank you, Samuel, you really helped me out on this one."
"Don't flatter yourself. It was something that I needed to do anyways. You don't owe me a thing."
When you suddenly sink to your knees right there in his office, his cocky smirk completely vanishes.
But then a dark, manic flush rushes up his neck. He grips the edges of his leather desk so hard the wood groans.
"Fuck... you really know how to play with my head, don't you? Look at you. If you're going to kneel for me like a good little doll, you better make sure you don't stop until I tell you to."
GOO KIM
There was this piece of furniture which you had been trying to set for hours but without any luck.
Finally gave you up and called Goo to the rescue.
Your knight in shining armor spent 5 hours trying to set the furniture and finally succeeded.
"Phew! Look at that master craftsmanship! Consider that a freebie, princess, I don't expect a tip!"
But the second you drop to your knees he bursts into a wide unhinged grin, throwing his head back with a loud laugh before leaning forward so his face is inches from yours, his glasses sliding down the bridge of his nose.
"Oh ho ho ho! I wasn't expecting this, but I like this sort of payment, doll!"
JAKE KIM
He spent the whole afternoon helping you move all your heavy furniture and boxes into a new apartment, refusing to take a single won from you.
Jake just laughed it out.
"Come on, it's no big deal. OH, get it BiG dEaL? Anyways we don't take payment for helping our own."
You wait until everything is settled and then lock the apartment door, turn around, and smoothly drop to your knees right in front of him.
Jake’s jaw practically hits the floor.
He drops onto his knees as well.
"Y/N... oh my god, you're going to kill me. If you look up at me like that one more time, I don't know what I might do."

Summary:
When Daniel gets the opportunity to visit an old childhood friend in the city, he is ecstatic and decides to use his bigger, more handsome body when they meet.
After all, he isn't too keen on showing her he hadn't changed much at all.
⋆☠︎︎𓆪༻⋆⋆༺𓆩☠︎︎𓆪༻⋆⋆༺𓆩☠︎︎𓆪༻⋆⋆༺𓆩☠︎︎𓆪༻⋆
Daniel never had many good memories on Valentines Day.
Every year he would watch his peers receive gifts and confessions, being the odd one out in a town bursting with love. Being someone who wasn't exactly considered handsome, he grew accustomed to being viewed and treated like a mere speck.
It wasn't like he had any special talents he could latch onto, he always preferred to keep them, if there were any, secret.
Lucky for him, he wasn't alone in feeling this way. In fact, his old school had a barrage of losers and geeks being constantly pushed around and turned into shuttles by the popular kids.
Even as he had long left that town, he could still feel the remnants of insecurity and not belonging etched into his mind.
Despite finding friends at Jaewon high, finding a handsome body to dwell in, and even receiving the affections of pretty girls at his school...
Daniel felt as though he didn't earn it.
Could he even do all the things he did if he had been stuck in his fat body? Thinking about it made him shiver.
A part of him always knew why people treated him like trash, yet he never wanted to believe this was the society he lived in.
If you weren't beautiful, you had to be smart.
If you weren't smart, be strong.
If you weren't strong, you'd be him.
How could someone admire a roach like him?
But that day, that particular day in middle school that he'd been on the verge of falling into a deep darkness... something changed.
Logan Lee had brought it upon himself to order his Pikachu again, sending him on near endless trips to and from the school. It was all for the sake of impressing his buddy who was trying to win over a pretty girl from class A.
After that entire menagerie, Daniel found himself slumped against the stairwell with a stained shirt and a discouraged heart.
Everything hurt.
His body.
His pride.
His heart.
He wondered if he could just end it all.
Even if he lived anyway, he would just be another squirming worm in the jaws of predators like Logan.
Who would care if he was gone anyway?
Daniel was about to stand up when he felt a weight slump beside him.
He looked up at the figure, gasping to find a scrawny girl with a bruise on her cheek. She had messy hair and her uniform was dirtied like she'd been crawling on the ground.
He didn't dare say a word her way for fear of being on the receiving end of yet another disgusted look.
What he didn't expect was for her to speak first.
"Hey, you're Daniel right?", she asked, her gaze pointed forward.
He straightened up, furrowing his brows in confusion. "Eh? Oh..Uh..!" He quickly nodded, curious to find someone who wanted to speak with him.
"Can you tell me what people are supposed to do on Valentines Day?"
Daniel paused. "What?"
She looked at him blankly. "I'm just confused by it... It doesn't seem like a big deal."
Who doesn't know about Valentines Day??
"I want to know..."
Daniel thought about it. "Well... They gift each other chocolate and confess...or...", he explained, finding his words unsatisfactory.
He looked to find the girl was frowning at his words.
What exactly is this day about?
"It's... It's a day to celebrate love, with the people you love", he spoke resolutely.
He thought about it, love... The people he loved, or rather, the person he loved.
"Love can take many forms...", he continued. The person who had been beside him all this time.
"It could be loving a friend... or a lover... or a stranger" He raised a hand to wipe the moisture forming at the corners of his eyes.
"For me, I love my mom." A faint smile curled on his face. "Even if I'm not the best son, she would care if I suddenly disappeared from this world."
Daniel looked up. "She's the reason why I go on..."
Realizing he'd rambled, a faint blush appeared across his face. "Ah, I'm sorry... I-"
"I see...", she nodded thoughtfully.
He noticed she was holding a crumpled plastic wrap with melted chocolates inside. It wasn't hard to put two and two together.
"Did you get rejected?"
She snapped her gaze to him, displeased. He flinched.
"I guess I did...", she confessed, "People are hard to understand..."
He relaxed at this. "Yeah, you bet..."
"I just wanted to give it to a friend..." She went on, Daniel listened losely.
"I guess I can't gift to someone who already has friends..."
"Maybe he has a girlfriend...", Daniel predicted, seeing an idea light up above her head.
"That's right!", she perked up. "He must have..."
She looked at him, smiling. "Do you have a girlfriend, Daniel?"
He flushed. "N-Of course not!"
She looked pleased by this. "What about friends?"
Daniel thought of Logan, but then again, he was more a slave than a friend. He shook his head.
He was surprised to see her run off. Tilting his head, he thought. What a weirdo...
A few hours later, Daniel walked home alone. Every Valentines Day was hell on earth for him, yet he couldn't help but think.
What if mom thinks the same? He never considered the idea of giving her anything on a day like this. Rummaging through his wallet, he thought about buying her a present.
Before he could, he spotted the same girl running toward him with a relieved face. He was surprised to be faced with her urgency.
She panted as she stopped in front of him, holding onto her knees. "Daniel!"
"Huh?"
She raised her arms, holding out freshly picked wildflowers. The melted chocolate had been refrozen, now weirdly shaped than just liquid.
He gaped.
"Let's be friends!"
Daniel thought back to that day with amusement. After that day, that girl would occasionally poke around him during school. She followed him around like she was his friend, she ended up getting bullied too.
After middle school though, she had to move away.
That was when Daniel realized he never really got her name. She ended up being just a pleasant memory in his past. He even began to theorize he had been hallucinating her existence all this time.
So, when he got the call from his old middle school group that a reunion was going to take place, he jumped at the chance.
Maybe she'd be there...
He immediately returned home and began to sort through his closet.
What was the best way to appear there?
Looking at himself in the mirror, he felt rigid. He usually didn't have to worry about dressing up since he always and only ever wore his school uniform in his old town.
Barely anyone could catch a glimpse of him in home clothes.
After hours of retrying and resorting outfits, he gave up. Laying on the ground, he felt his vision begin to darken as the exhaustion and exhilaration of the day finally overtook him.
When he awoke, he was in his bigger body. He sat up, groaning as he remembered his predicament. Eyeing his sleeping body, he fixated on all his flaws. The features he deemed unseemly.
If he showed up like that, wouldn't he just end up an outcast again?
He looked down at his current figure, an idea forming in his head.
Daniel sat in the grilling place with a nervous deposition; his hands were firmly planted on his thighs as he avoided looking at anyone. His mind was racing.
What would they think? What if they caught onto him?
He waited for hours in his seat, wondering if he'd made a mistake at coming here.
Soon, the restaurant gradually filled with people. They eyed him with curious admiration and confusion.
A girl approached him, Yuna Lee, one of his bullies' girlfriends who used to look at him like he was trash.
He half-expected her to lash out on him, maybe for sitting in a seat she wanted.
Instead, a cute smile splayed across her face as she sat beside him. "Hey there, what's your name?"
More eyes turned to him. Daniel froze, this unexpected development rendering him speechless.
His old schoolmates waited in anticipation for his answer.
"It's me... Daniel"
His words sent everyone into bursts of shock and disbelief. Soon, they were all crowding him with relentless questions. Others stayed at different tables yet looked at him with jealousy or bashfulness.
"Woah Daniel! My man! You've changed!" Who are you? "You still remember me, right? You lent me that pen!" You took it though... "Are you single?" Definitely not for you..
He laughed along with their words, vaguely answering questions.
The attention was all on him tonight.
The day wore on and his classmates ate and conversed. He had rejected about 9 people asking for his number.
And yet... There was still no sign of her.
Those familiar genuine eyes that appeared quite frequently in his dreams.
Is she not going to show up? He held a sullen expression, repeatedly scanning the crowd for even just a glimpse of her.
He looked down at the Yuna who had been stuck on him all night. "uhm.. excuse me.."
She perked up, looking at him with doe eyes. "Yesss?"
Somehow, she reminded him of Zoe.
"Do you perhaps know if another classmate of ours is coming?", he asked earning confused looks.
Yuna blinked. "Who?"
"Well.. I don't know her name but she was about this tall..." He held up his hand, imagining her face.
"Particularly meager, I think she wore her hair in space buns"
Suddenly, laughs began to erupt around him. Even Yuna who had previously only kept a calm and composed look, burst out along with them.
He sweatdropped. What's so funny?
"Oh, you mean, Y/n?", a boy in front of him smirked.
"Y/n..." Her name rolled of his tongue really well. He was quite pleased to finally learn her name.
"Yes..." He replied eagerly.
"She always wore dirty clothes", a whisper came from behind him. "And she smelled of cigarettes", another responded. "The whore."
"Whore?" Daniel furrowed his brows, offended by what he had heard.
"I remember on Valentines Day she tried gifting me something", a guy who had been sucking up to him all day spoke, rubbing his head in annoyance.
Daniel clenched his fist.
"Like, who just confesses to guys with girlfriends?" He scoffed, shaking his head.
She wasn't trying to confess.
"Totally gross man."
His fist hit the table before he could think twice, the loud sound reverberating throughout the room. Onlookers were left exasperated as an angered Daniel glared at the boy. Yuna looked at Daniel with fear for a moment, but it quickly twisted into respect.
"Don't say that about her", he threatened.
Silence gre around him, awkward.
"Hey man! I was just being honest..!", the boy tried to defend himself.
Before Daniel could reply, Yuna had spoken first.
"He's right! Maybe she was just being friendly!" She stuck her tongue out at him, crossing her arms with Daniel.
"Right Danny?"
He stood up, leaving the venue. He felt sick being stuck in that establishment all day just to get his crush become the target of mockery. Again.
He never admitted it but a part of him resented himself for letting someone who was so nice to him be ridiculed. Just like his mom.
He was a coward.
He'd come all this way trying to show off with what? A body that had appeared out of nowhere?
I haven't changed at all... How could I be so proud of this body when I haven't even done anything to deserve it.
At the end of the day, people loved Big Daniel, not the real him.
They would always prefer the more handsome and tall counterpart.
Not some ugly loser.
He managed to find a small bench in the middle of the park, slumping in it. He buried his face in his hands, self-deprication at an all time high.
Fuck...
"Hello? Do you perhaps know were PTJ BBQ House is?"
A familiar voice.
It can't be..
"Anyone home?"
It is.
He shot up in shock, looking up to find the once scrawny girl had grown.
Her cheeks were fuller, her eyes more defined, even her lips seemed less pale than in his dreams.
He flushed. She's still so... beautiful.
"Well?" She frowned, looking impatiently at him.
If only this was my real body...
Panicking, he stammered to answer her only to realize she was heading to the reunion spot.
Then... Maybe we could have showed up together.
He paused, knowing very well what she would end up being greeted with.
And nobody would whisper bad things about her.
His gaze lowered as he debated telling her.
Because she would be hanging out with someone more her level.
"N...n.."
His eyes stung at the thought, knowing he had no right to approach her. She had changed so much and grown a lot, yet he still looked the same as always.
Like a loser.
"Daniel?"
He gasped, looking up. He always fell to the ground when he saw her face was now inches from his, locked in a meticulous observation.
"S-sorry?"
"Hmm..." She leaned back, looking disappointed.
"I apologize. I thought you looked like my friend."
He was perplexed. How did she recognize him? He looked down at himself. I look like this body?
"How so?" Her lips spread into a thin line, embarassed.
"Well.. Your eyes are the same."
His stomach fluttered at this, causing him to straighten up.
Her hand made its way to his face, looking bittersweet.
"But I suppose Daniel wouldn't look like you." She cleared her throat before releasing him.
"His features aren't this sharp, he's a lot cuter that's for sure." She had a rosy tint to her cheeks that made his heart race.
Cute? Daniel thought back to his real body, sleeping in the little hut he called a home in Seoul.
Did she really not mind meeting with someone like that?
"I am Daniel..." He introduced, startling her. She looked suspicious.
"Daniel Park, but I guess not the one you're looking for?"
His smile made her loosen up, she shook his hand.
"Funny enough... I do know another Daniel Park though...", he mentioned. "He said he came from this town."
Her eyes lit up. "Does he wear glasses? He's also got this weird habit of looking nervous."
He nodded.
"That's him!" She looked delighted, clapping her hands together in celebration.
"Is he here too by any chance? We've got a class reunion today", she asked.
Daniel shook his head. He felt his heart being tugged when he saw the way her shoulders rounded as she looked down.
"It's because he's sick..!", He quickly reasoned.
She sighed. "Do... you have his number by any chance?"
He jumped at the opportunity; he couldn't help but grin widely. Whether it was from gratitude or elation, he wasn't sure.
Nevertheless, seeing her doing well after all these years made his day.
Although their reunion was short-lived, it eased his heart. He stood there, never wanting this moment to end. Even after she'd bid him goodbye with a cheerful wave, he didn't leave.
Not even as the sky dimmed and the air grew colder. He only snapped out of his daze by the ping of his phone.
Unknown Number Daniel? Is this you? It's Y/n from middle school!
